Okay I’m looking at getting a new HDD to store games on and I’m torn between getting another Exos HDD or getting a WD Black HDD
Currently have a Exos HDD for my main storage and a Samsung 970 evo M.2 for OS and frequently used programs

Is there any advantages over one or the other?
The WD blacks seem to have good performance but the Exos drives seem to have the better TB for the money.
Thank you 😊

Avoid SMR drives. Go for CMR. Be aware that WD's high capacity hard drives are most probably HGST HDDs. Also be aware that WD's "5400 RPM class" HDDs may actually spin at 7200 RPM.

Keep watching the SMART report for your 970 Evo. Pay attention to "Available Spare (Percent)" and "Media and Data Integrity Errors".

Thank you! I will keep an eye on the 970 evo
I looked up the current Seagate Exos x16 (st16000nm001g) HDD I have now and it says it’s a CMR HDD
Which high capacity drive would you recommend? For mainly file, media, game storage and playing games off of.
