I currently have my desktop on the floor, which concerns me. i have a dog that sheds a ton and there is usually a good amount of dust accumulation. What I am wondering is what (if any) do you put your desktops on? I do not have enough space on my desk for my PC; does anyone have any links to good cabinets or something that would look nice/

My desk I use has a place for a tower. its not that high off the floor though maybe 6 inches. if you can find a solid small table. You need to be able to sit in front of the screen and have easy access. If I was looking for this kind of thing I would make function like a soild top file cabinet. I do not like them on floors myself. Unless your a good house keeper than its fine. still clean the inside of the case maybe every 6 months depending on the dust level.

It is on a hardwood floor so I suppose it could be worse. It also feels like more of a display piece since it is lit up and looks nice so I was looking for something functional and nice looking (i.e, a cabinet, table etc.) I just did not know if people actually consider this and had any suggestions of furniture in particular. But yes, I will of course keep up on cleanliness both in and out of the PC

I was just wanting to raise the system off the floor while maintaining a pleasing aesthetic. More like a seemless addition to a desk like a side table or something like that.

Hmmmmm....not that it would be all that popular with others....

Mine is on a high shelf, above the back of my desk, with the top of the cabinet about 38cm below the ceiling surface.

Not much of a dust or pet hair issue in this situation--well, not since the cat got bored with sitting on top of it--and all cables make a vertical drop behind my monitors.

The only drive to actually access is a USB 3.0 BluRay burner, on a shelf just above the top edge of my left-hand monitor, and all USB access has been routed to the desktop, below the right-hand monitor.

Very convenient and uncluttered, actually.

There are tons of things you can do though, depends on how your setup is. You can get a holder that mounts to a desk side or bottom https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077XCDLT...&pd_rd_r=51147535-56e7-11e9-a634-633eb631cbdf or a stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0096KK76W/ref=psdc_572238_t4_B003BYRO7O or anything really, table, printer stand, night stand, put it on the desk behind to side of monitors, etc..

I use wheeled stands to raise desktop computers up off the floor by 2 or 3 inches. One stand (commercial, salvaged) and another homemade from a board and old 2" cabinet wheels.

Either way just being up off the floor a couple of inches does help and the wheels make the stand and computer easy to move and clean around.

Just be sure to allow about 2 feet of slack in the connecting cables.
