Hi guys, i've had this small issue with my pc for quite sometime, it's nothing major so i havent really felt the need to deal with it, if even possible. But maybe you guys could have a clue whats going on with it.

So it started like a year ago, when i havent had my computer on for awhile (like overnight, not a quick reboot or so) my pc wouldnt have any internet connection. Once you started it, this little "globe" indicating no internet connection would always show, and unplugging/plugging in the internetcable didnt do <censored>. But the weird thing is, it ALWAYS working once i did a reboot of the pc. So it kind of became a habit, i started the pc, got to the loginscreen with no internet, just restarted it once more and let it boot up and then everything works as intended. Weird.

Now for like the past month my pc has started doing a "Scanning and repairing disc C" when booting up, which it has never done before. Although this takes like 10 extra seconds, every time it has done this the internet connection now works as soon as i start the pc, without having to restart it?

So i'm kind of worried that my disk is dying, but im not really sure since ive only had problems with the internet connection, and its always the first time i boot it up for the day and then the problem vanishes?

I did try to reinstall windows like half a year ago and wiped everything on my drives but that didnt work. By this time i still had no internet connection when booting up, the "scanning and repairing" hadnt begun by this time.

Drivers/Windows updates etc is up-to-date. Does anyone recognize this? Im not even sure if its a problem with my disk, my motherboard or any software issue at all, hence the confusion...

Thanks for the help.

what are specs of the PC?

I assume its windows 10?

right click start button

choose powershell (admin)

copy/paste this command into window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth

and press enter

Then type SFC /scannow

and press enter

Restart PC if SFC fixes any files as some fixes require a restart to be implemented

First command repairs the files SFC uses to clean files, and SFC fixes system files

SFC = System File Checker. First command runs DISM - https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/manufacture/desktop/what-is-dism?view=windows-11

download crystalsdiskinfo - blue icon - https://crystalmark.info/en/
if you run it, it will auto scan drive and check its health

Hi,
Yes it's windows 10 home.

Intel i5-10600k 4.10ghz
Gpu is a ROG 2080S
32gb 2666hz memory
Mobo is ROG strix Z490-F Gaming
My C disc is ADATA SP900 256gb
The D disc is Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500gb

The powershell said Image Healthstate was Healthy, so i guess that is good.

The SFC said some files were corrupt and was succesfully replaces, and i restarted the PC but the "scanning and repairing disc C" still came up.

The crystalDiskInfo says both of my discs are in good working order, the C disc got 98% health and D 97%, not sure if theres anything else you need from this program? Temp's seems good to, around 32celsius on both.

From what i can tell, everything looks normal?

Search for command prompt
open it as admin
type chkdsk c: /f and press enter
2 paragraphs will pop up, agree to run at startup
close command prompt
restart PC and let it run...

you can also run same process on the other drive too, it shouldn't need a restart to run. just replace c: with the drive letter.
