Being over 40 myself I also would call those retro but I was talking about games that would run on a modern system. If you want to get right down to it I had Pong. That's retro. 😉

I'm a lot younger than you guys but I still grew up playing mario. I guess some things never change.

I have finished the main quest in Skyrim. I'm around 60 hours in now and I'm beginning to feel the burn. Currently doing the Dawnguard dlc. I've only started it. After that, it's the Dragonborn dlc.

So I just picked up Tom Clancy's: The Division on a steep discount ($20) and put in about 8 hours so far. I avoided the game after release because of terrible user reviews but after a recent update it started getting a lot of good reviews on Steam so I decided to gamble a Jackson on it. It's a little "mmo grindy" but it reminds me a lot of Hellgate: London (one of my all time favorite shooters) and will probably replace the Borderlands series as my go to "mindless shooter with decent character progression/minor RPG elements" game.

I'm totally hooked on Mad Max. I always loved the movies so that makes it even more fun. I'm not sure it will have any replay value but when I finish it will be with a high completion rate. Maybe not 100% of the achievements but close.

Gman are you playing vanilla Skyrim or are you using mods?

Vanilla Skyrim. The subtle changes they did with the special edition was enough for me.

I've gone back to MGS V after over a year. I decided to play from the start all over again. I wasn't too far in story wise anyway. Because of this I haven't gone back to Skyrim in a while. I shouldn't have completed the main quest already. I've lost motive now, even though I've still got the DLCs left.

I've got Mad Max on my backlog. I haven't played that in a year either. I barely did the tutorial before quitting. I didn't spend much time on it at all. Beautiful game though.

Battlefield 1 currently.

Running on Ultra 90fps. Very fun game. The Dynamic Weather is pretty cool.

Would be cool to get a group together to play some Battlefield 1 or 4 or whatever.

Make sure to listen to the cassette tapes, in my first run i totally ignored them, and really missed those codec calls, cassettes tapes kinda replaced them. Gamelay wise MGSV is one of the most brilliant games of the last years, i felt in love with those tight controls the first time that i played ground zeroes.

I do hear them. Mainly the yellow marked ones which are related to the story in hand. The others, I tried listening to but I just can't understand all of it. Too much politics involved, lol.
Yeah, I forgot how fun this game was. Part of the reason I stopped playing back then was the stealth aspect. It just took too long. But this game doesn't punish you for going the opposite strategy, meaning I sometimes attempt stealth and sometimes just go full on blowing stuff up. I was not aware of this back then, so it took out a lot of fun from it. Plus I heard it isn't finished so there was that too.

Finished Mad Max. Overall very enjoyable if a little repetitious. That ending though.....

Spoilers

Wow not many game devs have the guts to end a game like that. Seriously, most depressing game ever? It fit with the Mad Max theme but damn, there isn't a single part of it that could be called 'happy'. I liked that they took a chance. It made the game more memorable.

Reinstalled Fallout New Vegas last night and started playing with some mods. Also reinstalled Mafia II and Remember Me as they were games I'd started and lost when I upgraded the system earlier this year. Maybe these will keep me occupied until Mass Effect Andromeda. Maybe. 😛

I'm playing Rise of the Tomb Raider right now. I really liked the first game and it feels like they took that solid foundation and improved it nicely in this sequel. I really like these games.

It's like they took the set pieces and characters that made the Uncharted games cool and matched them up with combat and stealth mechanics that are actually fun. I haven't played Uncharted 4 but from what I've seen in the two games in the rebooted Tomb Raider franchise Crystal Dynamics is beating Naughty Dog at their own game.

It's hard to really say 'best' but Rise of the Tomb Raider with all the settings maxed at 1440p might subjectively be the best looking game I've ever played. The story and game play mechanics were also very good. I really thought that they took all the good parts of the 2013 reboot and made them better. I think they basically doubled the length of the game as well.

Yeah, I'm also playing it on a 1440p G-Sync monitor with max settings and it does look amazing. You are right, I can't think of too many games that look better than this. I haven't seen The Witcher 3 since I upgrade to this monitor though.

It's a different 'best' but yeah The Witcher 3 and I don't know how I forgot Mankind Divided. Those 3 games are about as good as it gets in their own ways. They're all so different and so good picking a best really comes down to personal preference. I don't have G-Sync but I do have an AMVA+ panel with 100% sRGB color so both colors and black levels are amazing.

So I've pretty much gone all in on Tom Clancy's: The Division over the last 2 weeks. Playing at ultra settings with a consistent 60 fps solo or with my friend is pretty cool. There's 3 things that have really sold me on the game. First: it's a (sort of) RPG set in a mostly modern world; we haven't had on of those since Alpha Protocol. Second: it has an pretty interesting story. The story is so good that even though I never read a Tom Clancy book I was looking for the one this game is based on. And third: the game reminds me a lot of Hellgate: London. And that game is one of my all time favorites.

meanwhile im struggling with lowest settings...rekt my pc.
well at least i have my Rb-SIEGE

@anort3 I've heard criticisms that while they nailed the gameplay in Mankind Divided, the plot is weak and the game too short. I *really* enjoyed Human Revolution, but those criticisms make me reluctant to pick up Mankind Divided.

I got 100 hrs on my first playthrough 😀
Yeah if you go by the trailers and play it like a shooter or stealth game you are going to be disappointed because it is an 'exploration' game at its core. Deus Ex was always about the exploration. Even in the first DX game that released in 2000, if you remember you only got XP for exploration and completing objectives. You never got XP for taking down enemies or even hacking. The only criticism i have about DXMD is that they made it too easy. It's like they designed it so the most casual gamer on earth can finish it and they made a separate Breach mode for the hardcore gamers.

I don't remember exactly but my first playthrough was 50+ hours. Longer by far than The Human Revolution directors cut with the Missing Link DLC incorporated into the story. I think that's only around 25 hours. I'm at 72 hours in Mankind Divided but I started a new game +. The DLCs are pretty good as well. Both have been stand alone stories.

The story is a bit on the weak side. I'll agree with that. The DLCs flesh it out a bit and there's more to come.

Did you find this in the game? Spoilers.
