When is the GTX 800 Series release date?

wanna play with teh big boys you gotta pay big boy $$ lol. my 780ti i just ordered will do me fine for the next 2 years. I wanted to wait for maxwell but no telling what time this year it will be out for desktops and you never want the 1st shipment of a card anyway and i dont use ref coolers so i'd have to wait even longer for evga to release their custom one. Thats just WAY too long for me.
 


I reckon my SLi'd 660Ti's can keep up with the 780Ti until the mid range Maxwell cards turn up.
 
Yea sli 660 will hold you over and to be hinest it may not be worth upgrading to the mid range 860 or 870. Only time will tell when nvidia finally decides to release the official specs and details. Until then im done worrying about it. In 1-2 years when the new 20nm 880gtx is out and the 2nd version of the cards are out and non reference companies have made their custom pcb's and what not then maybe I'll look into a 880gtx. Shoot I may just get another 780ti classified and go sli.
 
The GTX 790 and the GTX 860-870 will launch in February. Also, the GTX 780Ti 6GB Version will come around as soon as GTX Titan inventories clear up. Top end Maxwell cards will not come until late 2014 - early 2015.
 


Well, that sounds realistic anyways...but lets meet in the middle. The 780 has been around for 7-8 months already, with the 780Ti in the market for 2-3 months. I would say expect a price drop during March-april, I think this is more than enough to reduce their inventory. Hence I would expect the top tier 800 Series coming out towards the end of April for the lastest.
 
I disagree, I have the 780 ti and I think it's worth it especially for 1440p.

I upgraded from a 780 and it's makes a big difference @ 1440p

The 780 blows the 670 oc that i had in the beginning of the year at 1080p.

Have you played the latest games on a 780 ti or is your humble opinion coming from what you read?

The 780 ti is beast that is more stable and better for overclocking than the gtx 780 and according to Nvidia better than any other geforce ever made because of the load balancing.
 


I would wait for the 800 series because they are proably developing some new technology and putting it in that

Latest rumor suggest the low end will come out first. And it is possible this low end will end up using 28nm as well. For me most likely i'm going to hold on to my 660 Sli. But if i'm itching to get the maxwell based card i might end up getting one.
 


the industry has followed a release trend announcing in spring releasing in summer. I expect gtx 800 to hit retail by june 2014.
 
If you go to the Nvidia website you will see the 820m however I think that will be using a Kepler architecture.

Do you remember the industry ever releasing a new flagship in November? sometimes things change and get delayed...

I think Nvidia is more focused on outshining AMD than following a trend and I don't think that AMD is releasing anything new other than a dual GPU solution that is rumored to come out.

Has there ever been a flagship ti? This is the first time, "I've never seen a 680 ti or 580 ti"

Nvidia hit a home run with the 780 ti hopefully AMD will compel them to release a even more powerful card by providing competition again...

It may be longer than we think. I doubt that nVidia (or AMD for that matter) will release another generation of card on the current 28nm process. TSMC has been having problems with its 20nm process which would have been the next generation of GPUs. That's the big reason for all the re-branding that has been going on. Until TSMC has this sorted out, we're in Limbo.
 




Most likely in May or June. 😀 (I'm not 100% sure though.)
 
The Maxwell line of GPUs (800 series) is slated to be released in Q1 2014 with the estimated month being Feb or March.

personally i'd expect late Q3 or sometime in Q4. depending on how it pleases nvidia and amd they may drag the launch into next year :)
 


very old news. usually when there is real part coming out we will start hearing about spec and such in more detail manner in about two or three months ahead of official launch. when the launch is very near we will start seeing posting about performance leak
