Hi, long time since my last post here! I have had the GTX 1070 for 7 years now and it's served me well, but it's time for a change - i recently upgraded my motherboard, cpu, psu, ram - basically everything except from the gpu. Oh, also i spilled hot chocolate in my pc which seemed to target my beloved 1070 which is on it's very last legs now (unsurprisingly)... not the worst of outcomes.

My current build is below, and i've been looking at the GTX4070 - which seems like sort of a direct upgrade from the 1070. Would there be any merits in choosing a radeon card, or other nvidia card over this? Is there any need to go for a 16GB card? I intend to keep this for a similar amount of time to the 1070, and should be done with build changes for a while once this is locked in.

My budget is around the £500 mark but i'm rubbish with my money so could be tempted to go higher if it's worth it...

Build:
CPU: Intel i7 12700k
RAM: Kingston FURY Beast Black 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz DDR5 CL40
MOTHERBOARD: Pro Z690-A (MSI)
COOLER: Arctic Freezer 34 esports DUO
CASE: NZXT Phantom 240 midi tower case
PSU: Corsair RM850 (2021)
MONITOR: BENQ EX3210R
Thanks for the help - let me know if you need any more info!
