I've come to notice that after more than 6-7 years , 11mb/s is not the average download speed , especially in my country , Romania , I thought my package from my network supplier was just that , around 100mbps but I've contacted them on another issue and they told me that I should get minimum 200 mbps and average 450mbps up to 500.
I've tried to check the speed and duplex thing and before it was at 100 mbps but now its 1gbit and managed to get over 100 mbps but not by a lot.Does it have to do something with my router or cables ? Also I have this ethernet ss it says its still 100 mbps:

Try a different network cable from comp to router, cat 5a or 6. Gigabit uses all 8 wires in the network cable and will default to megabit (4 wires) if something is wrong with the plug or not making contact properly with any of the wires.
I dont have any should I look up ethernet cat 6 and buy em?Also should I try to directly plug in the pc the internet cable that goes into the router?

Not sure if you need the router to connect or not, try it. All this will do is determine if router is megabit or gigabit. If not sure, what is the model number of it? Link speed should also be described in router settings.

Network cables are cheap so yeah. Cat 5a or 6 is fine, don't buy cat 7 or 8, these are fake. Cat 5a transfers 115MB/s, just to give you an idea.

It is the router limiting you. Routers that only have 100mbps ports are actually getting to be rather rare almost all have gigabit ports. There are many routers for less than $50 that have all gigabit ports. More expensive ones just support faster wifi. Most people still only need a router with a "1200" number on it which will give about 300mbps wifi speeds. If you are using ethernet it doesn't matter.

It is has become very common for the minimum internet speed to be over 100mbps in a lot of places.
