Why cant i access my ASUS WLAN utilities driver?

After installing Asus PCE driver and utilities on disk, and restarting computer. Window to select use asus WLAN utilities, does not appear. This means the Asus WLAN card settings utility icon is not in system tray to open and therefore i cannot open wireless setting to quick setup my Wifi. However my wifi EE Brightbox does appear as an option on my networks, but i am unable to connect, even after giving the password.
Any help would be appreciated, this is my first PC build and im just getting used to windows 8.

windows 8.1 doesnt support this driver
