hello iam new to PC gaming well actually gaming in general and I wanted to play counter strike go but its really laggy and stutters on my pc which has AMD sticker on it? and my cousin has Intel inside core in his PC and he can run counter strike go without lag? please help thanks

Ok. If he's willing to part with it for £100, then ok. It helps him and it helps you. Given that it "IS" functional and that you put up with your current system for so long, this might well last you another couple of years; time enough for you to save for a true upgrade.

P.S. Just so you don't look like a complete hard-ass, consider offering to split the difference with him. £150 for the system, keyboard, and mouse.

Hi. Yes it works I face timed him and he filmed turning it on and launching up counter strike go. I did offer to split the difference like you said, and offered him 150 and he said that he wouldn't let me pay that much because he said the energy bills are going to be expensive enough and he said there is something rattling around in the mouse since he dropped it a while back and was considering just throwing it away. we finally agreed on 125 pounds and he said I can drive round his house and pick it up tomorrow morning! (He only lives 4 miles away). He has also ordered the upgraded parts online himself just in case I order something that isn't compatible, but hes going on holiday in a couple of days for 3 weeks, so I will have so make do with the FX 9590 processor for a little while before he can put it together.
Yeah, so im really grateful I got such a good deal; my cousin is a legend
Thanks for all the help dude, and @Everyone else aswell

Totally agree with these guys right here, your PC is old and need to consider upgrading it, running a CS: Global Offensive or even ESPORT Games would be difficult.

You can run Old Version of Counter-Strike 1.6 or lower with no problems but for CS:GO it would be a problem

ah ok yes he doesn't mind what happens to his pc and has offered anyway to help put new parts in to upgrade his old pc that I will buy off him. he suggested:
Ryzen 5 1600
B450 Motherboard
8GB Ram (he says thats all I need for the games I will play)
500GB SSD
and of course all of the other existing components like power unit and the HD7990 and I will be re using my own case
and it comes to a total of (his PC included): 320 pounds
any thoughts? thanks
It sounds good to me.

Let us know when you get the PC assembled how much of a change it was for you. Also, keep in mind his PC will still be faster than yours, but you'll be a thousand times better now than before.

Cheers!

hey so I just got back from my cousins and ive been using the PC for hour or two and its really good! I did some research about the processor (fx9590) an it seems people hate it but it runs counter strike smoothly so I dont know? the only thing is the pc is very loud and warms my feet a lot! (my pc sits under the desk next to my feet) but my cousin said once the upgrades are installed it wont use so much energy or get hot. So yeah! im very happy with my purchase and excited for the upgrades. will keep you posted more once the upgrades are installed.

The FX9590 performs decently and much better than your old cpu. The main reason people rag on the 9590 is due to its insane power consumption and even high end aios have issues cooling it. Hence why the 9590 and older gpu will get hot and be loud.

For example a modern cpu such as the the i7 9700k has simmilar clocks and the same core/thread count to the 9790, but the 9700k draws about 1/3 of the power and offers a lot more performance. Ryzen is efficient aswell and operates at a lower clockpeed while still having more performance.

Glad to know it was a good purchase. And as I said, it was going to be quite the heater.

Now, out of what he suggested, if you can go for a 3600, then do it. The jump from the 1600 to the 3600 is quite a lot in both power consumption and performance.

Cheers!

so I asked my him about a ryzen 3600 and he said that it would be about 100 pounds more (upgraded motherboard that supports the ryzen 3600 included) but I want to keep to my budget and my cousin said that a ryzen 1600 would be more than enough for me and for the games I play. And also because the parts have already been ordered too 😛

Sad, but understandable.

Cheers!
