Your post smells like troll, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt...

Can you please give us your full computer specs? If you don't know, then please try to give as much information as you can possibly get about your computer.

Cheers!

hi thanks for replying. how do I find my computer specs?

There's several ways and it will depend on how you acquired yours.

If it's a store-bought PC from Dell or HP, then the model number is enough for us. If it's store-bought, but custom built, you will need to download some software to know what innards it has. HardwareInfo, CPU-Z and GPU-Z are good programs to use.

Cheers!

I think this Is it maybe?

Damn, that's one old school computer. You won't be able to run csgo with consistent FPS.

Did you buy it from him, if so how much?

Yep. That's it.

In computer terms, your PC is ancient. If your friend has a moderately newer computer, it would make sense that his computer would out perform yours.

oh thats annoying that computer costed me lots if money when I bought it is there any way I can make it so It can run counter strike?

Your computer isn't slow because it's AMD, it's slow because it is 12 years old. The 6400+ was released in August 2007 and you are trying to play CS:Go which was released in 2012.

In 3 years your PC will be able to apply for a drivers permit! At least the GPU is newer, from 2009

Adding RAM might help a bit, but overall, it's time to retire that system and purchase/build a new one.

In a PC Gaming world, PCs are only viable for three or four years before you need to upgrade them (I'm hoping this isn't a recent purchase). In some cases, you might get away with just adding a newer graphics card or a newer processor, but in your case, your system is so old that newer components are not going to help without a new core system (Motherboard, CPU, and RAM).

At a minimum for upgrading, I'd consider something like this:

Even by 2010, that PC was old by any reasonable metric.

You're better off saving money for a new one. Think of a budget and we'll help you with a template list of things to look for in a pre-assembled PC.

Cheers!
ok maybe I guess my pc is a lost cause ha ha :/ well I would love to have a budget of 900 pounds again, but after rent and a new transmission for my car I have a budget of around 400-500 pounds? im not sure if thats possible but thats all I would be willing to pay for a computer now thanks

Would you have the guts to assemble it yourself?

While it is not hard, by any stretch of the word, you're always better off paying someone else to do it; specially from places like Overlockers.co.uk that offer such service.

Now, to make some assumptions... You will need to replace: PSU, CPU, Motherboard and RAM. You can keep the GPU for the time being and the Case itself. @Wolfshadw gave a nifty little list of items, but I'd say 16GB RAM and adding a new PSU will bring that up to ~£250. Maybe you can include a good GPU as well and still be under £400...

Let's see...

With that budget, I'd probably look at something like:

With some extra cash for someone to put it all together and install Windows for you.
