Did you see this text:

"Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (RSB550FG.CAP) using BIOSRenamer."

That exe is included in the /zip download.

Yes, if I click show more description it says "Before running the USB BIOS Flashback tool, please rename the BIOS file (RSB550FG.CAP) using BIOSRenamer."
I'm just a PC noob so I don't really know what to do from here unless there's some instructions you can link me as I don't want to mess this up.

Step 3.
Either manually rename is as indicated, or run that renamer thing to do it.

Ok, I needed to extract it before I could run it. So I did that and it successfully renamed the CAP file. I'll attach a copy of what was said when I ran it and a copy of what is in the USB now (it is the only thing on the USB).

The last image is how the file looks now, have I done it right yes? do I just eject the usb now? or is it wrong

In your File Explorer window menu, click View.

Click the checkbox for File name extensions.

Why?

So you can tell the difference between:
PicOfJLo.jpg
and
PicOfJLo.exe

The first one is safe. The second one is not.

Oh ok I did that now, ill show you.

Should I delete the .exe one and just leave the .cap as the only thing on the usb?
If so is it all good to eject?

Looks good. Continue on.

Don't delete anything until the process is all complete.

So I dont delete the renamer.exe? ok. I ejected the usb. Next is to power off my PC, put the USB into the bios flashback port. Hold the bios flashback button for 3 seconds till it flashes 3 times. Then leave it till the light goes out and then the process is done and I can boot up my PC right?

Again, do it exactly how the user manual says.

I am I'm just double checking with you before I do so. It doesn't mention where to put the USB after I power off my PC.
I'll attach what it says and you can tell me if this is correct 'Next is to power off my PC, put the USB into the bios flashback port. Hold the bios flashback button for 3 seconds till it flashes 3 times. Then leave it till the light goes out and then the process is done and I can boot up my PC right?'

I tried to find the instructions for my ASUS ROG Strix B550-F mobo on ASUS' website and I couldn't find it? If one of you could link me the instructions to follow for my mobo I'd appreciate that a lot. I found the bios update that I need to download i'll attach an image of it just so I have the right one. I'll also attach an image of a error message I keep getting on my PC since restoring my BIOS to default settings.
Your best bet is to probably take it to a computer shop and ask them to update the bios so you dont have to. It is generally $30ish for them to take they're time and do it but worth the in issurance it will be done right

As white.a.drew states...this might be the time to give it to someone else to do.

I wouldn’t have someone to give it to. Especially right now we're in our strictest lockdown. I have the bios update on a usb, I have my PC shut down I was just asking if I should switch the PSU off at the back of my PC before I put the usb in
