Wifi not connecting to network periodically

I am running an i7 MSI gt683 with windows 7 with an Intel Centrino Wirelss-N 130. My home wifi connection runs off of comcast on a netgear router, and the wireless connection works on every single device in the house except for my laptop. I can run my ps3, my wii, we have an ipad, all our phones can connect and we have another laptop that connects with no issue.

I have updated my drivers for my wireless card to the latest, flushed the ip on my desktop that the modem is connect to a dozen times. The only way to sometimes fix it is to manually log in to my router and release/renew the ip address from there. Sometimes it will work, sometimes it won't. When it does work, it will work for about a week and then stop working for no reason at random times.

I have done all that stuff with the ipv4 or whatever it is, and have googled for an answer for forever. I asked another website that just stopped replying after awhile. Any help? The connection is stable right now, so i dont know if an ipconfig would help you guys or not.

The errors I keep getting are:
Identifying network (which runs infinitely before cycling back to no internet connection)
Connected with no internet access.

Did Comcast provide the modem and the router ? If you can try and add the mac address to the routers list of connected devices if it isn't there already.
Go into the routers internal settings and to the wireless page where you can select the sub menu , wireless MAC filter. Enable the wireless MAC filter and also check off the Permit these devices. List all the devices that you want to connect wirelessly by thier MAC address. Every device wheter it be computer , printer, phone, ipad or laptop has a MAC address.

The only thing I can think of that is similar to what you are saying is the option that permits only devices I list to connect to the network. I'll try that and see if it fixes the issue, but collecting all these devices mac names seems like a terrible hassle (Over 8 devices use my wifi in th house. Not all at once)

And yes, both were supplied by comcast. THe modem and router are both rentals.

Since the router is a rental you can easily call Comcast and say that the router is giving you trouble and either get tech support from them or have them bring you a new router.
You may not have to go to each device and get the MAC address because all the ones that can connect will have the MAC address in there already so all you need to do is copy them down and then get the MAC from the one device that's giving you trouble and make sure it's locked in there along with all the others.

I added it to the accepted wireless cards list, but didn't turn on the access control because not every device was showing up, and some that I had no idea what they were were showing up without IP addresses. I help run this for my parents, and they have several portable computers they use for their work (which there are only two of, and there were at least 4 unknown devices) so to make it easier on them I reset the router and changed the password to something different, to see if somebody in the neighborhood was doing somethign fishy maybe? It seems to be working now, so I'm hoping maybe that fixed the problem without having to close the access off to every single device except for the ones I specify (which, with my parents computers takes the access list up to about 11 devices I would nee to account for, not counting my siblings cellphones when they choose to visit.)

I have no idea if it is my laptop or the adapter then. I assume it is something with the adapter. I am hoping to have money to simply buy my own wifi adapter soon, cut out the rental fee and hopefully fix this issue once and for all. Do you think this will have fixed it?

I'm sorry I'm not following your troubleshooting directly. I don't know much about mac addresses or anything like that, and I dont want to end up restricting something we need in the future because there were very few devices on the list that actually had names on them.
