I am searching for a gaming laptop and I found the following:

Gigabyte G5 MF

It has plastic chassis and I would like to ask, will it cause any overheating problems ? Should I look for another laptop with aluminum chassis ? I don’t want performance drop while gaming, cause of overheat.

Specs:
Intel Core i5 12500H
GeForce RTX 4050 6GB
8GB DDR4 3200Mhz
512GB SSD

I don't think an aluminum chassis will help much with gaming performance.

A gaming laptop need a high-performant cooling system (dual fans, large copper tubes and vent...)

And the ambient temperature is the most important factor, if your room has the A/C on, the laptop will perform better.

I found ASUS TUF Gaming FX506HC-HN004 (for the same price), which has aluminum chassis, but a lower-end GPU (RTX 3050). Based on what you are saying, I could go for the Gigabyte G5, right ?

Sure, you should focus on the technical specs rather than the chassis material.

Laptop chassis is usually made from high-density plastic and it's very durable. Aluminum is mainly used for making the laptop thinner while retaining the structure's robustness. Aluminum is used as a passive cooling solution by some laptop models, but if you are a performant user, you need a laptop with good active cooling system.
