Ok So I was planning on buying a Ryzen 5600x and a Asus Rog Strix B550-F when the chip was released but I was wondering if the b550 will need a bios flash and if so how will I as I don't have an older ryzen chip to get into bios (Do you need a supported CPU to get into bios???) and I was reading about that you can do this without a CPU installed with the Bios flash button but didn't know 1. How long it'll take before it's safe 2. Do I need ram and storage in while doing it.

So main questions are:
if the b550 will need a bios flash?
Do you need a supported CPU to get into bios?
How long the bios flash button method will take before it's safe and Do I need ram and storage in while doing it.

Thank you very much (I own a pc already so downloading the bios update onto a USB drive is no problem)

Download latest bio of MOBO from Asus on a flash drive, got to Bios and flash the motherboard selecting the latest update for that mobo, wait until it's done, turn off again, put the cpu, thermal paste, screw the cooler and voila!
