Ok So I was planning on buying a Ryzen 5600x and a Asus Rog Strix B550-F when the chip was released but I was wondering if the b550 will need a bios flash and if so how will I as I don't have an older ryzen chip to get into bios (Do you need a supported CPU to get into bios???) and I was reading about that you can do this without a CPU installed with the Bios flash button but didn't know 1. How long it'll take before it's safe 2. Do I need ram and storage in while doing it.
So main questions are:
if the b550 will need a bios flash?
Do you need a supported CPU to get into bios?
How long the bios flash button method will take before it's safe and Do I need ram and storage in while doing it.
Thank you very much (I own a pc already so downloading the bios update onto a USB drive is no problem)
