[SOLVED] Will these two ram modules work together?

Hello everyone,

I've been wanting to upgrade from my 1 x 8gb stick of hyper x fury 2666mhz ram (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/yBZ2FT/kingston-memory-hx426c15fb8) for a while now, but can't find any model that is similar to mine online as they all seem to have been replaced by a newer model.

I've finally found a stick which I've made a reasonable offer on, on ebay here (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254541418458 ), but it seems to be slightly different, i.e it has an xmp profile. I looked up the model number and it's part of an alienware computer.

It has the same heat spreader, and I am aware that it won't operate at the 2933 mhz if it worked with my 2666 mhz module; but aside from that, would my pc boot? I know ram is quite picky so I wanted to see what everyone else thinks, as I ideally don't want to have to buy a whole new 16gb kit in order to upgrade from 8 if I can help it.

Thanks very much :)

Solution
There is no way to tell if it will work with your current RAM other than to try it. The only way to be absolutely sure you can get 16GB to work is to purchase a new 2x8GB RAM kit.
