Merry Christmas everyone! I was on this forum a little bit ago asking for ideas for an upgrade of a cpu. Multiple people recommended the ryzen 7 3700x, but I have a concern. I displayed my current motherboard which is a *GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming 3. I'm not sure if the 3700x works with it however. On the gigabyte website it says it supports 2nd generation ryzen, but when I look at the box of the ryzen 7 3700x it says its 3rd gen. If I update my bios and install it, will it work, or do I need to buy a different MoBo?
Here is the link to my previous forum post: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/ideas-for-an-upgrade-mobo-and-cpu.3554805/
Thanks,
Will

Solution
If your currently using that motherboard then just update the BIOS before putting that 3700X in. You may want to update the BIOS in order as skipping updates could result in bricking the motherboard.
