Whenever I enable XMP in bios, (Gigabyte b450 DS3H), My PC will blue screen on 50% of startups and give me error codes like:
CRITIAL_SERVICE_ERROR
IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
KMODE+EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I originally had 2x4 Corsair 3000mhz
and upgraded to 2x8 Corsair 3000mhz
so now I have 2x4, 2x8 (24gb)

It runs at 2133mhz, when I enable XMP it goes up to 3000 but I get these errors.

I updated to a newer BIOS version but not the most recent. From F1 to F32 - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B450M-DS3H-rev-1x/support#support-dl-bios

Would 16gb @3000 be quicker, if so, will that most likely fix the problem after enabling XMP?

My drivers are up to date, any ideas? Would 16gb @3000 be quicker, if so, will that most likely fix the problem after enabling XMP?
Fit the 2x8 into the proper mobo slots.
Uninstall the 2x4.
Test.

Will it allow you to run XMP when just 2x8gb is in motherboard slots A2 and B2? What cpu do you have? Is the BIOS up to date?
It has booted up fine with XMP enabled in the slots and size you recommended. I restarted from windows - didn't blue screen and did a full shutdown and reboot, seemed to work perfectly fine. What does this mean for my other memory? Was the large amount ram causing the problem? I've also heard that ryzen is much better with quicker ram so is 16gb 3000mhz better than 24gb 2133mhz?
