What kind of problems? What hardware are you using?

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.broadbandnet.hardware (More info?)

Yeah...uninstall SP2. I have an MN 520 that refused to communicate with the
base station after SP2 was installed. Kept saying I had the wrong WEP
security code which of course I didn't. Applying all updates to MSBN didn't
work. Also when I reinstalled MSBN, I received the message that there is a
known issue with MSBN and this particular version of Windows and the message
to check out MS's Broadband webpage but there is no information there! So I
uninstalled SP2 and it worked perfectly again.

Good luck!

MIKEY: Thanks for the info. I have a MN500 and it works for
10 minutes then drops it. I keep reading around thatt
there are problems, but no fixes yet! I'll take your
suggestion to uninstall, but where do I find 'uninstall'
for this on XP Home?

Connection last for about 10 min then drops. I think I will
just uninstall SP-2 until I can find the fix.
Thanks for you info.

David:

Instead of uninstalling SP2, try running without the XP firewall turned on.
Your MN 500 should offer enough protection during that time; just make sure
you're running AV software that's up to date. Are you using any other
firewall besides the built in XP one?

BTW, I have installed SP2 on two machines here at home; one a desktop, the
other a Toshiba notebook. I'm using a MN 700 and MN 720. So far I haven't
seen any problems with disconnecting that I didn't see before I installed
SP2.

To uninstall SP2 (if you really want to do that), open Control Panel,
Add\Remove software, and click on SP2, press uninstall.

The newest software contains a fix so the MN-520 will work with SP2.

I did try disabling the firewall but still no joy. I'll just have to wait
and watch I suppose...

It didn't work for me. It definitely installed but it made no difference.

SP2 will not let me use my microsoft broadband software.
It claims there are compatability issues. I have to
upgrade it to the latest version of the software. The
only problem, since it won't let me get on the net how am
I suppose to do the upgrade? Obviously these people don't
care about supporting their own product. Fortunately I
have another computer I can use for now, SP1 forever.
Good luck updating if you have microsoft broadband. If
you don't, contact the company that makes your broadband
equipment, I guess. Good luck.

What specifically was the message? I've installed on eight machines here
running various Microsoft Broadband Networking hardware, and haven't see an
issue.
