I used to hover between 47-55C while idling until yesterday, and be between 60-75C in games except for notorious heaters such as NFS Heat where I'd go to 85C usually
But for the past 1-2 days it's...
Hello, I am seeing some unusual temps for my 5800x. I have a custom loop installed recently, covering both the primary GPU and CPU.
Specs:
CPU - R7 5800x with bykski CPU-XPR-C-M waterblock
GPU1 - Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming OC 10G with bykski N-GV3090GMOC-X waterblock

Fairly self explanatory, but I've got a Thermaltake Tower 900 as a case, and even with both radiators, it still has room for fans on the top, rear, and even for the HDDS (pages 13-14).
My question was: how many are needed, exactly? The case is huge so I'd imagine even with something as large...
Hi guys,
I've been struggling with my 12900ks so I wanted some input from people who will know better than I do.

To people who had experiences with custom loops and using AIO's...is a custom loop worth it? Does it make a big difference compared to AIO's? Care to share some of your experiences and thoughts about this subject...I really would like to know if it gives a big benefit in the real world...
Hello!

Hello folks, this is going to be a build log of a mid-to-high-end productivity and light gaming PC. I'd love to discuss and share some choices, parts, aesthetics, and so on. And of course, I'm going to post some pictures of my progress.
First some words about why and how. Feel free to skip...
To begin with, I sort of just want to do this for the aesthetic side of things, as stupid as that sounds.
I'm thinking of rebuilding my PC to do this and so far the parts I've liked so far are:
CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x
Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATM AM4
Memory: Corsair vengeance RGB...
Hey Guys!!
I have recently completed by custom loop with Ryzen 3700X. I have done some stress testing on AIDA x64 Extreme
I'm, seeing wired momentarily spikes in temps in intervals of 3-4 mins. I know ryzen is quite bursty CPU in nature but still with custom loop this behavior is wonky...
I need help choosing the right and budget friendly coolant for my loop.
I have all parts ready to build a loop. I can build with both soft and hard line tubing.
My loop is entirely with copper and brass components.
The only stone in my path is coolant. As per config estimated volume of water...
I bought a year ago my first custom water loop kit (EK-Waterblocks EK-KIT P360) and it's time the change the liquid but it has no drain port. I was wondering if I could turn the PC upside down and drain it from the top of the reservoir+pump combo? If I just put a fitting in the top + a piece of...
I know people have done copper pipe tubing and it can be a pain to bend the pipes. I know you can buy softer copper that is more malleable but even then it seems like more trouble then its worth.
My question is could you solder on fittings for bends and such, or would the solder used cause...
So this is what i know and please don't slam me for this:
I don't believe DIY custom loop thing is only meant for uber high end server junkies / vfx engineers which can or have to spend thousands of dollars on just cooling their components. It's also an enthusiast thing and anyone can do it...
Hello Everyone,
As the title says, I have my hardware all setup, rigid tubes are all bent and connected to the fittings. I cleaned out my radiators with distilled water just to get the big gunks out. Now I am ready to leak test and flush the system before I fill the loop with the coolant I got...
Have a custom cooled loop (360 rad) for an intel i9-9900ks and can't find much info as what to expect for temps.
I Idle around 23-25C and at full load for Cinebench hit around 72C with all cores running 5Ghz (some spike to 73-74C briefly) and 1.34, 1.35v on the CPU and ~200W power.
Is this...

Hi. i am thinking about passive water cooling for CPU+GPU ( i7-9700k + RTX 2080 ti ) estimate overclocked heat load around 600 watt.
I thought about getting a big (40 liter) water tank.
The idea is, that the large amount of water will be able to absorb the heat from my CPU and GPU and the...
Hi All,
First time posting in the forums so if this is in the wrong place let me know!
I'd like to make a build log for my new custom loop in this Corsair 1000D monster. Anyone experienced with modding this case would be a welcome help to me!

Hello all,
I recently installed my RTX 2080 Ti Gigabyte Gaming OC Edition.
The temps at max load were 80'C+ and ran hotter than my old RTX 2080 8GB at max load.
I have heard people using aquarium chillers to cool their RTX 2080 Ti to around 20'C (way below room temperature).
Is this a good...
Hello guys,
I was thinking about finally jumping on the water cooling train. I would like to cool both gpu and cpu
However, I would need some advice.
Problem n.1 is definitely space. Because I would like to have 280mm front rad (as a start, maybe expand it with some 120m back rad or 240m top...
So i’m planning a new build that will be my first time doing a full custom loop and I’ve been pondering going with a crossflow radiator for some time now during the planning process but wasn’t sure. The build would be in a Fractal Design Node 304 (yes I know Fractal says that you can only do a...
Hi all,
First time on Tom's Hardware, made this account after browsing the forums for a solution to my issue, unfortunately to no avail. I am at my wits end, and would appreciate any help that anybody can offer.
I keep my computer on just about 24/7, and I am experiencing this frustrating...
I have recently noticed my PC slowing down, so I updated the BIOS to the newest version A21. I was looking at the boot sequence in this BIOS and I selected uefi, and restarted my computer to see if that would make the boot faster and now it says "no boot device found". If I go back in the BIOS...

Hi Guys,

Ram - 3 GB
Graphics - Mobile intel 4 series express card at 1341 MB
Will I be able to run Windows 10 ?
I need to know if these parts would work together and if they don't, other parts to use.
I know this seems like a big ask, but this is going to be my first build and i don't want to stuff it up. But the main thing here is too tell me if the parts would work together. You don't have to make me an...
