hey i have a question
i built myself a nas-server.
i'm using a 500gb nvme ssd from samsung as chache
a standisk ssd for bootdrive
and 5 wd 1tb hdd's for storage

the only problem is that now 2 of the 6 sata connectors on the mb stopped working .

do you know if there is a way to fix this?

Solution
As the above poster has suggested, a SATA port often shares PCI-E lanes with an m2 slot. If your boot drive is also a PCI-E SSD and you have two M.2's populated then you will lose 2 SATA ports. This is often SATA ports 5 and 6, at least that has been the case for my recent boards. Your manual will tell you how the board behaves as you load up M.2's or PCI-E slots.
Motherboards often share an M.2 port with a SATA port. You cannot use both at the same time and have to choose one or the other. The manual will mention this somewhere and say which ports are affected.
