710 over X3 720

I already own a 710 and it works great. But my wifes cpu just messed up and I was thinking of giving her that one and get me a 720 with a good heatsink. She only plays games like sims 3 not really hardcore games. She only has a 1950pro. Will it be a big differece if a got me the 720 and overlock it higher? I have the 710 around 3.3ghz. But looking at the way my wife plays should I get her a athlon II for around 60$ and save my money.

Well since you need a new CPU for your wifes PC then it wont make a difference for you.

Getting her a Athlon II would be fine for gaming. but in the end her GPU would be better off with a new one.

well will a 720 oc to 3.8 be able to handle 5870 cf? or maybe just one huh? I realy love the x3 720 just think it will be crap when i get my 5870 on christmas since I only have a 4870

your 720 shouldn't bottleneck your future graphics card at all
