965p-ds3 biod F10 and Iastor.sys error windows boot is slow

Hi all, first of all this is my first topic, after reading lot of them under gigabyte, i decide to post it for my particular problem.
i'm french and sorry for my bad language.

I've a 965p-ds3 card (rev1.0) updgraded with the latest bios F10
2x80Go hitachi t7k160 in RAID 0 (purple sata controler)
1x320 Go Hitachi t7k500 on yellow sata port (0, or 1)

Windows xp is installed on raid 0 without probleme, except the very long boot time (around 1 min) on the event viewer i've 3 same error every 20 sec (this famous 1min)
The device, \Device\Ide\iaStor0, did not respond within the timeout period
this device is the 320 Go plugged onto ICH8 controler
After windows boot , everyything is Fine, windows is very very fast, hard disk works fast, this error appears only during windows boot

Do you have same experience ? have you solved it ?
on new bios i've disable AHCI and seems than 320go is too much slow and unworkeable..

im just wondering, when you installed xp on the raid 0 drives, did you use the raid drivers that came with the board or the default ones that came with xp?

i use the drivers from jmicron

the drivers to be choosen is : JMB363 (when you use f6 key in win xp install"

I have the DS3 on another system and it boots fine. make sure you install the raid software that comes with the gigabyte CD (install everything in the express install section besides the yahoo toolbar).

Tks Xeni but my problem is not located on raid software
i've 2 disks 80Go on Raid 0 on the GSata purple plug BUT I'VE ALSO 1 disk 320Go on the Yello PLUG , and this is this disk who make 3 error on the event viewer only during boot, the iastor.sys is a intel driver from ich8 chipset
once booted (1 min later) the system is stable and very fast
i just want to know why this error appears

another thing, i cannot check the case "enable Disk write cache" on device mamanger, it's a grey case

Just a thought: could the error message be related to the HDD going into "deep recovery cycle?"

I know your drive is not WDC; but, it could be behaving in the same way as desktop drives are designed.

this is not the reason
the hitachi disk hasn't this funstion and works fine once windows booted
i don't understand why i'm the only one to have configured my mobo with
2x80 Go raid 0 (GSATA : purple)
1x320 Go Sata (intel: Yellow)
this is a standard cofig isnt'it ???

the only time i had this problem was when i tried it install xp.

it was due to a low voltage setting for the memory.

you may need to up the voltage setting in bios for the memory.

Apparently, there is a problem with the RAID driver from Intel. This error msg has been the subject of a very long thread at the Microsoft Technet forum.

I finally bit the bullet and changed my SATA mode from RAID to IDE. The PC was becoming unusable under RAID mode because of the repeated Event ID 9 \device\ide\iaStor0 error. Each incidence hangs the system up for about 20 to 30 seconds. And, it happens nearly every five minutes.

My system (under SATA IDE mode) is now a normal functioning machine!!!
I haven't seen one Event ID 9 error the whole day!

Good riddance, RAID!

from my case i've changed the HardDisk interface from sata 2 to sata 1 mode
all seems ok
but perfs in burst mode is 150 mb/s...
ps: i've raid 1 system on jmicron and second hard disk on Intel ich8 sata port
...
why this ports don't support sata2 speed when jmicron is activated...
