yep..u r right.. 1981.. 😉

we didn't say it works 100%

we just wanna share information

it has possibility..also some korean o.c

was success to do the transfrom to quadcore from heca..

some people can do use it quadcore with stability..

some people has problem of stability like can't log-on o/s

fail of the posting..

it depands on luck 😉

depands on cpu..

just imagine if u r lucky..

u can get deneb940.. 😉

it's magically changed..

if it doesn't work well..

just use it.. 😉

i think it's pretty good cpu..

if u just use triple core..

in my case..

i'm pretty interested in it..

even though i don't have enough money to buy it

😉

We are trying to share interesting information with u guys.
Don't need to be negative or aggressive.
All we need is little support from Toms hardware to find out whether this phenomena is worthless.
There are many available datas supporting this actually can work out well. Unfortunatelly, most of them are Korean. Anyone willing to examine this further?????

I really appreciate psyubl's effort.

Here is my result//
CPU: 0904BPMW
Mobo: Asrock AOD790GX/128MB
>>Success
was able to enable fourth core :)

I have a 710 on the way, as well as a Gigabyte MA-790X-UD4. I see the 790GX from Gigabyte is having some luck, so hopefully I do also.

No need to bash these guys. Lets see you try to go speak Korean on a Korean message board. Not easy eh? 😉

And to those of you guys from Korea with these unlocked cores ->

Overclock.net will receive you with open arms. 😀

we need a professional assessment of the situation pronto. too many conflicting reports for me to make up my mind. if you have a 3 core phenom and you are NOT a brand new member like iShift please post your reports. all i have heard so far is new members saying that it works. i need an old schooler here to confirm this, otherwise its just as bad as saying corei7 can produce 16 threads with a simple bios tweak.

I totally understand.

Also keep in mind, I'm neither approving or disproving this claim. I'm just saying I have ordered a 710 and an SB750 motherboard. That's all.

And I was referred to this discussion by a very similar post on Overclock.net (.Shift on there).

I also didn't think it was right for these guys to get bashed as they have. For whatever reason it may be. That's another reason I joined up.

I know I'm brand new here, but please - lets keep this discussion on topic. If you can't disprove them factually, please don't contribute with useless spam.

Thank you. 😀

Why would you buy the new stuff without confirmation?

i think the skepticism is welcome and healthy. this is a very ambitious claim from these guy(s). to claim you can simply make a quad core processor from a 3 core processor that is stable and can run prime95 is... well... you know what i mean. all im saying is pictures are nothing and a group of friends can cause a lot of ruckus.

iShift do you have any new evidence to bring to the table? im curious because you speak very fluent English and maybe you could shed some more light in this sea of darkness.

I know where you're coming from.

And I didn't get the 710 because of this. In fact, I'm not really concerned by the fact that it may not work. It's still a very good budget processor, and it was really interesting to read about it being unlocked into a Quad. Piqued my curiosity so to speak.

Like I was saying, I'm simply waiting for my hardware so I can provide some feedback regarding these claims. I'm sure many of you are quite intrigued, as am I.

And I'm from the States. Newegg is my friend. Thank you for complementing my English. 😀

LOL i can see this now many people coming back here stating there computers are crashing hard ever second because they tried to enable a failed core.

its still hard to believe one simple setting in the BIOS can enable a disabled core inside a CPU. they might as well just phtoshopped the BIOS screen making the sub menu have a choice of how many cores you wanted

I'm not suprise one bit, if this fluke is real.

I was ONE of those skeptics, back in mid '08 when AMD released an announcement that ACC on SB750 would increase overclocks. Yep, one of those "WTF does the SB have to do with OC?". I have 5 Intel system and only 1 AMD System, so be skeptical, but keep an open mind, just because something works differently than what you are used to.

Since the news broke people have been talking about this all over the internet. From the few that have actually tried it, it appears to work. But the results are varied some seem to be fully functional others not. Go to OC workbench they have done it themselves.

Its very interesting but because there are so few P2 X3's about at the moment its a bit hard to get an idea of whether the majority are working or not.

Frankly though - whether this is real or not (I don't care either way, so don't get your flamethrowers ready :pfff: ) is immaterial. The fact is that AMD locks (insufficiently it would seem) the fourth core of a triple core processor for a reason, and at the manufacturering process these CPUs are at (or indeed any CPU with processor cores disabled) any seemingly small defect would result in a possible quad core being downgraded into a tri-core. Any defects a 700 series chip may have on its fourth processor would vary between CPU to CPU, which explain why this (if real) would work with some and not with other 700 series CPUs.

I personally though, would rather not try it with a tri-core, even if I had the chance. Having an extra core for free does seem testing - but if its not deemed fit for purpose in first place by the manufacterer then I'd rather leave it that way.

At least, those are my thoughts on the matter.

You know, this isn't entirely impossible to do. Remember the mods on the 6800 GS that unlocked shader pipelines and transformed it to a 6800 GT? Or BIOS flash to make the card think its a higher performing variant? I think this actually may hold some water.

Now, whether if it actaully is possible is still up for debate. I think it's up to Tom's to do a hardware analysis with their X3 720. If I remember correctly they had one for a test a few weeks back.

By the way, I am from Canada. So don't accuse me of being another spawn of the Korean board-goers.

You know similar stuff has been getting done with graphics cards for years...you could bios flash an x1800pro to open up more pipelines and turn it into an x1800xt for example.

I'm not saying I believe this...but if it's true then jesus AMD have been very, very smart because this is the sort of 'news' that will sell millions more 720 BE's 😛

I think same as u.. I think it happen was purposed by Amd..

compare amd and intel.. it's like david and goliath..

as u know intel spend lots of money for marketting like cf,cm,ad on newspaper and so on..

but in amd case.. they couldn't..

so I think amd use heneb(heca -> deneb..korean call it heneb) for advertising their brand name..

and cpu.. I'm not to sure about it .. coz i'm not work in amd..

just i think it has possibility

and after that happen lots of korean people know the brand "AMD"

and heca,deneb.. if they purpose to do that 4 ad..

i reckon amd's marketting is..very very very smart..

even though heneb will do the team kill deneb.. lol

lol i love English
I think u mean DAVID and GOLIATH**

Also, to all u guys (or one guy)....we're not saying (or at least from what i can tell its "we") that its not true. We're just skeptical of 1) if its true and 2) if its truly stable

Chy, theres an edit button for a reason and no reason to spam and troll

I know u guys must be skeptical of it..

Some korean o.c is also worry about it

some people order to the heca which can transform quadcore and mobo

unfountenely i wasn't able to test it.. coz i don't have enough money to buy it

It's posted in korean community site like this site..

Some cpu is unlockable of the died core..

maybe in that case..core was no problem..but amd just do the laser cut

for sell it to heca..i think it's no problem of the other core..

actually deneb is more expensive than heca..so amd was

change deneb to heca for sell it..

some people wasn't able to unlock the other core..

they tried to control acc..but it doesn't have any respect..

i think in that case..the core was died..

i like talk with other guys about computer things..

that's why i love community..

even though my english is not good enough talk with others..

lol
