Understandable chy18. I cant speak your native language at all, most Americans can't.

Thanks to you and all the other Korean posters for bringing this here, Toms as well as a few other sites have picked this up state-side. And weve seen that there is SOME merit to this, it just seems to be completely random, and a freak accident to be blunt.

I wouldnt sugest going out and buying X3 710's and Biostar motherboards because of this.

yep.. u r right..it needs risk if people buy a heca & mobo

some of korean o.c bought heca&mobo..

they'll reporting which one is needed..

i also wouldn't suggest to buy it..coz it needs risk..

if we gather more info..we'll let u know

sweet dudu~

Why is it so hard to believe......at one time not too long ago you could unlock extra shaders and pipes on video cards. I have an X800GTO card that I turned into a X850XT with a bios flash.

“The impossible - what nobody can do until somebody does”

because the 4th core is disabled for a reason that's why. :pt1cable:

still no evidence - im sick of this talk. i have read 0. absolutely ZERO confirmation of this so far. i guess its true - if you say something loud enough and enough times people start to believe it. WAKE UP PEOPLE! there is NO REAL EVIDENCE YET. sweet lord how easy it is to impress you guys these days...

edit:
just reminding you guys what these korean dude are saying -
you go into your bios change one option and magically a 4th core is perfectly working at stock speeds fully stable with prime95.
you want to believe AMD is that friggin stupid be my guest. this is an absolute fabrication.

Looking at the current lineup of AMD's products, their stock speeds and pricing, I have to say Dirk Meyer is really doing an excellent job. Let's hope AMD can continue with what they've been doing and how they're doing it.

Totally on topic, it actually is feasible that AMD could have released a couple batches of X3's that are fully working in an attempt to have someone find out, advertise for them, and then sell a whole bunch of X3's that won't turn X4. Thereby selling tons of X3's, getting many more AM2+ motherboards sold, and potentially increasing marketshare, along with profits.

werxen, just because you say it is bs we are supposed to just say ahhhh yea it is BS because werxen said so................how much evidence do you need? Who needs to present it to you?

Actually who the hell are you and why should we care? And why would anyone even try to prove anything to such a naysayer.

I'm little bit sorry about that

at that time most of korean o.c believe that 100% of heca when produce 4th week in this year

so that's why a person posted this issue in this community site..

and i told u..it's not a 100%..

we didn't want cheat u guys..

just wanted to share info..

don't be sick dudu..

u don't need to upset of this post..and reply..

lol

we thought it's better to share this info with other guys..

that's all

i'm pretty interested in it.. 😉

I really don't see a reason to debate so much and speculate stupidly on why amd would ? or how amd would?...get over it.....if its working, its working..

similar was the case with some gpus in the past.....why the hell would graphics chips with working pipelines be disabled for no reason when they can later be activated by the user with a soft mod...not 100 percent of those pipelines unlocked by users worked fine but "some of them did perfectly" ...so y cant it be true with the phenom x3...yes not a 100 percent people might get it working or even get it working stably but "some might". So we can wait a few days to let people test and report instead of making a fool out of ourselves by arguing and calling others stupid, liar or somehow inferior just because of their language barrier...am sick of such juvinial posts

PS..the OP even has a video linked now..watch it for those who keep saying its fake...yes he did'nt stress it to see if it can with stand power usage but still he was not lying after all

Not all of them are %100 stabler there was a report where some one Turned ACC to auto and could not get the Chips stable even at 1GHz and 1.55v Vcore. So it is luck of the draw. I don't know what else you need this is on multiple forums already and real people able to turn a X3 to a X4. I think AMD did this at "Do it at your Own risk" thing. If I were AMD I would only allow the black edition to allow enabling the 4th core.

you are a fool.

now back to reality:

anyone care to provide any links? evidence? benchmarks?

no? just more pictures? :sarcastic: i honest to god cant believe some of you guys on TOMS of all places are believing this CRAP without any benchmarks... are you KIDDING me? i feel like im in looney land and the only person there with me is raven.

hey i got an idea for all you guys who think this is real: buy a 3 core phenom and see how real it is when you blow your own cash on it. dont give out the idea that it is real without any benchmarks. sad day in toms when guys who cant even speak English come on here and win the forum over with a few pictures.

there is a video posted on the previous page..care to check it out...just FYI

hey dudu..this is not a game.. i know..

my english is not good at..

but is that a important??

what we should do more?

a person post this issue on this site..(i don't know who he is)

just 4 share the info..

as i told u it's up to u..believe it or not..

just think about it..

we spent our time 4 share that info..didn't want any benefit of that..

we r same person..

same o.c....

open ur mind dudu..

we don't want to make argue..

lol

use google for... "Superiority complex"

X3, listed with 4 cores/4 threads, and validated. Cant get much clearer than that. Also its offical on the canardpc site, just to rule out any further photoshop claims.

Also werxen, are you just ignoring the video posted on page 2 because youre once again afraid to admit you are wrong? Or are you just ignoring all the post referencing to the video? Or both?

Naysay all you way, fortunately for us your opinion dosent really matter. Pictures, videos, and a CPUz validation has been posted. You keep crying for somebody from toms to confirm this yet it appears this has only been found in Korean batches.....so far. I too would like more confirmation on this, but as of right now this is all we have...and its legit as it can get....so far.

Once again ill state as its been posted 100 times already. This is a freak finding, an accident. Its also not to be considered 100% stable or reliable, and nobody should go out and start buying these chips and boards because of this. Myself and the koreans have said this...several times. ITS A TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT THING. Period.

not bad!

edit: im not ignoring the video. im clearing this up and i will say it again:

i can run my processor at 5 gighz it does not mean it is stable. i can claim it being 5 gighz but its really not at that frequency. sure, you MIGHT be able to enable the 4th core but what does that mean? nothing. if its stable i will give it credit if its not there is NO point.

Well if you claim that you are a jerk I am sure that no one will argue with that assessment.

Someone on the techpowerup forums claims to have unlocked his. Give it more time and you shall see.

i TOTALLY agree with you on that one spath. the point is, i saw pictures of this stuff with prime95 running - only to insinuate one thing.

edit: yeah i guess i am being a bit of a jerk today. i sorry. but my point still stands regardless of my childish nature this week.

Im sure AMD is scrambling right now and getting with the mobo manufacturers for BIOS updates to prevent this. Selling a 2.6ghz P2 "quasi-quad" CPU for $120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103648 is madness. This is also potentially damaging to the chips reputation, because if this gets out widespread enough people could be turned away by the false hope that this is basically a free quad core CPU when this is all resolved.

AMD may also leave this as a "do it at your own risk" thing. Do you think all of the X3's Fourth core is bad? I don't think so. Just like not all of the X4's 4Th core is good. All AMD dose is they test a few CPU's per batch same with Intel. It'll take too long to test all of the CPU's in a batch. I sure hope AMD leaves it as this but limit the 4th core to enable to the Black Edition. I have to wonder if Intel plans on a Tri-Core? It seems the Tri-Cores sells like hotcakes.

But your right it may turn people away, but then again you still get a good chip for $120 bucks. It's basically better than Core 2 Duo in multi threaded games and applications. And I have yet to see Intel price cut their Core 2 Duo line up. You can get a 720 for $20 less than the E8400 right now and that is a bargin.
