My computer keeps restarting itself over and over..it's really starting to get annoying. I get 4 messages in the event viewer every time:

"AMLI: ACPI BIOS is attempting to read from an illegal I/O port address (0x70), which lies in the 0x70 - 0x71 protected address range. This could lead to system instability."

There are 4 of these messages..all the same except each one has different addresses. I've read somewhere that I need to update my BIOS, but I have never done this before and I dont really want to unless I absolutely have to. Is that what is really causing this?

thank you for your time,
Bob

you can try if you changed any BIOS setting by setting them to default, you can also try to reset your bios by taking out the jumper on your motherboard in your motherboard documentation you should update your bios only if you have no other alternative
