[citation][nom]that_aznpride101[/nom]don't blame the company, blame the freakin' pirates who make PC gamers' lives miserable[/citation]

why is this comment being voted down? He is absolutely right. Pirates are killing PC gaming. Pirates (thieves, criminals) are nothing special. They are the cancer of pc gaming....slowly killing it. But what cancer doesn't realise is that when the infected dies, the cancer dies too...
Vote me down, I don't care. Every time someone makes a comment against piracy they get voted down.

[citation][nom]gnookergi[/nom]People don't buy games that are a restrictive.DRM makes games restrictive.Therefore, people don't buy games with DRM.[/citation]

So, they buy the game for the consoles instead.

Thus helping to destroy to PC gaming market.

Do you blame the developers for implementing the DRM?

Or the Pirating community who forced their hand?

I like the idea that I can save my games on one computer and just pick up on another after I have installed it there. I wish Steam would add that functionality.

yeah, lame is right, Steam is tried and true, just implement steam for copy protection, and that way you will still be able to play in offline mode...ugh, stupid developers with heads up their asses, chances are this game will be distributed on Steam anyway...

you make a good game .. people pay for it. to have continuous internet connection while playing single person game is just stupid..

[citation][nom]4745454b[/nom]Why did they build this instead of just using Steam? Sounds almost the same as steam. Not sure if I can play my single players games without a steam connection though. I haven't tried loading a game then pulling my NIC cable.[/citation]

As long as you keep your steam account's password saved you can login in offline mode and play any game in single player mode. If you loose your connection during the game nothing happens! You just keep playing.

"Ubisoft has fused some pretty strict protection-schemes into its upcoming games that could cause some big headaches for PC gamers."

Only ones stupid enough to buy it, FU Ubisoft.

Wow... just wow. If I want to play a single player game, I have to be constantly connected to the server? That's plain stupid. Will they ever realize people buying their games also want to play them? Don't bite the hand that feeds you guys.

Once sales go down because of this way-overly-restrictive drm, they will probably say the PC gaming market is too small to justify developing PC games...

My feeling about this "always online gaming" requirement falls in line with my opinion of software companies in general, I think they're in league with ISPs and telecoms to squeeze as much profit out of us through download bandwidth overages as possible. All this continuous content feeds, downloadable content, patches, updates and connection to make sure we're legit will eat up bandwidth and the ISPs will rake in the dough, which will probably see percentages go to the various "cooperators" in the endeavor.

So it is basically setup like an MMO, have to log in to play what not, except you do not actually interact with any other players what so ever. Atleast there is not a monthly fee...err shouldn't be giving them ideas

PC gaming won't ever die. Why? Because Intel, nVidia and AMD depend a lot on the PC gaming market to sell their products, not to mention manufacturers of graphics cards and motherboards like Asus, MSI, etc. Instead I predict that the next generation of consoles will be engineered so that ports to and from the PC are done with the minimum amount of effort and ultimately consoles and PCs will blend together, essentially the same only with different peripherals attached to each. Either that or consoles will go the way of the dedicated DVD players and stereos.

I sure won't be buying this game if that's the case. My connection isn't always stable for one. Having to depend on servers to play a single player game is a big problem as well. That one time at night where I only have 30 minutes to play a game will be the time it can't connect to the darned server. No way.

Stop bitching about things like this. You people complaining are one of the reasons that games are moving away from the PC.

It's either game on the superior platform and deal with restrictions like these, or play dumbed down versions of the games on the consoles. Your choice.

Whats that figure I have been reading? 40% of Americans don't have broadband. These fellas just cut them selves off at the knees. If they do this with PC games, I thinks they should start requiring console kiddies to be connected to Xbox live at all times to play games. Fair is fair.

DRM = Fail, no matter how you do it. Once again pirates will receive a better user experience and paying customers. In other words, DRM only punishes paying customers for doing the right thing. I believe that says it all.

I also agree that it's better to have this then the companies moving away from PCs blaming the piracy, especially when a console in my country costs about US$700 x.x

[citation][nom]ram1009[/nom]This system sounds identical to STEAM to me and *YES* your single player session will end if your STEAM connection to the net is broken.[/citation]

Well, I just checked this again to be sure. Nope, games seem to continue flawlessly when I unplug the network cable. I didn't even need to switch to offline mode to load another game without internet connection. What single player games did you try on Steam that quit on you when the internet connection died?

Unless the game has some online features (those will obviously have problem if you're disconnected), it seems to be running fine.

These decisions drive people to piracy. I'd buy a DRM free game I want in a hearbeat. If it has DRM, I will seek out a cracked version that has stripped out the DRM.

[citation][nom]CIB24[/nom]I think it's a great idea. There is far too much piracy in games on the PC and despite the fact that it alienates 1-5% of PC gamers, I believe this should be a step that more and more publishers adopt when releasing games on the PC. This type of system could give more incentive for developers to create or port good games to the PC again and reverse the dying trend.[/citation]

alienates 1-5% of PC gamers, i don't think so, try 100%
everyone has a chance of losing their internet connection for an infinite number of reasons. I was really looking forward to this game but no way am i going to buy this now.
