[SOLVED] B550 Chipset good enough for the R5 5600X?

Was going to get a 5600X at release but was wondering if the b550 would be good enough as personally I'd rather get a decent B550 than a cheap X570

It is. You can put the upcoming 5950X in a B550 board, as long as it has good enough VRMS.
The main difference between X570 and B550
are these:
X570 has an annoying fan
B550 has less chipset pci-e lanes, and does not always have multi-gig networking, though it sometimes does have.
And some X570 boards are more solidly built.

Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2. - $240
or
Gigabyte X570 GAMING X - $280

Either will be good, I'd take the B550 since it doesn't have a fan.

I haven't worked much with B550 boards, but really it won't matter that much for most people.
check which one has better vrms in the vrm motherboard tier list
