Best crossfire motherboard for overclocking?

I'm just trying to find a general opinion on the best crossfire board out there. I'm still not sure about which cpu i'm going with but I'm certain it's going to be an ati 1950xt in crossfire setup.

so please any input will be helpful.

I would recommend an EPoX board. EPoX makes pretty good quality boards that work well and are designed with the enthusiast (overclocker) in mind. They also have plenty of features and inputs for all of your peripherals. One thing that really stands out is EPoX still places two IDE (P-ATA 100) inputs on their motherboards, unlike everyone else.

I'm in the middle of a system build, myself, and I am considering the board mentioned above, as well as, the SLi version.

Also consider the ASUS P5B Deluxe. Runs about $190. FSB Biosed up to 650, ASUS Quality, WIFI, Intel Matrix technology.

if he's running 2 X1950s in Crossfire he doesn't want a 965 chipset mobo as the 2nd PCI-E only runs at x4.
On Intel he wants a 975X chipset or probably the DFI RD600 mobo if he can afford it & isn't scared of the BIOS.

On AM2 or 939 then an RD580/3200 chipset mobo but Intel Core 2 Duo is currently the CPU of choice.

Excactly. But 1st we need to know what type of CPU you decide, then we can get into specifics.

Excactly. But 1st we need to know what type of CPU you decide, then we can get into specifics.

right now it's between the c2d E6300 and the x2 4200+. But i'm leaning towards the core 2 cos it's the fastest out there

If you go with the Core 2 setup, id go with the Bad Axe 2. Its the most stable crossfire board for Intel platforms currently. If your proficient in tinkering in BIOS, you might wana grab a DFI RD600. Both offer good overclocking, with the edge going to the DFI.

i am yet to actually overclock a processor, so i am a nub at this. how hard would the bios in the RD600 be?

But its a great board with a even better layout. Only complaint ive heard is the Northbridge is a bit toasty. Make sure u have good airflow....

if u want the core 2 get the 975x what ever it is as much as i love amd intel is the top dog right now but dont get the rd600 i read off a web site amd intentionally crippled the rd600 so that it wouldnt be a good intel chipset which is gay in my opinion but its a buisness i guess

i wouldnt put it past them and for the price off newegg like 250 its outragous if your going to get the amd then i would prob get the epox i was acually going to buy it when newegg just made it disappear but now it is back in stock so im going to get it i havent seen anything on the board yet though so idk im going to wait for a review or wait a little longer for teh new rd780 to come out which who the hell knows when that could be

That arcticle is Inquirer BS. Look at EVERY other rd600 review. Head to Bit-Tech. They had a great write up on the board, and went over everything.

Yes, I too have seen the reviews and the AMD chipset isn't much different from the others. There were tests were it did lag behind a bit, but excelled in other tests. I'm not quite sure where I saw the review, but if I come acrossed it again, I'll post it here.
