Hello
I'm looking for a graphic card for my Intel Core i5-7500 processor. I was looking at RX 580 8GB because it's cheaper than GTX 1060 6GB and only a bit weaker, but I found out that the GTX 1660 has almost the same price, just a bit more expensive than RX and it's better. So it looks like it is an obvious choice, but here's the question. Wouldn't be my CPU too weak for GTX 1660? Should I go for 1660 or 580? 1660 is a better graphic card I guess but wouldn't it be a bottleneck with i5 7500? I also have a 8GB of RAM and FreeSync monitor. I want to play games at 1080p res.

Solution
In games where you are CPU bottlenecked a 1660 should perform the same as an RX 580. Pairing a weaker GPU with your 7500 will not offer better better performance than a more powerful GPU, worst case they perform the same.

So should I go for RX 580 or GTX 1660? Or maybe something else. Which card would be better choice for the future?

In that general price range i'd say the 1660 super is your best bet, if you plan to upgrade the CPU soon. In terms of future games and many games out today an i5 7500 wont offer the best experience regardless of which GPU you pick.
I'm not planning to upgrade CPU soon, but I guess I'll go for the 1660, thanks.
