Hi! Thanks in advance!
What I have now:
A) ssd 0, an 1 year old Samsung 980pro, 2t with 800gb free;
B) ssd 1, newly purchased WD Green SD350 1t, windows 11 just installed;
C) a usb flash drive with windows 11 installation media;
D) a few HDDs…
In short: after a forced shutdown, I can’t boot my pc, and BIOS boot order page is empty. I followed the instructions of chatgpt and have done some common things, like, via installation media: run repair, restore, and some commands, but none of them worked.
A longer story: I hibernated my pc with lots of applications running the night before, and woke it up the next morning (I do this quite often). After a few minutes, I vaguely remember receiving a software prompt indicating low disk space or something and the need to force close that application. Then the system gradually lagged and finally froze (mouse still movable), and I had to perform a force shutdown. Then it can’t boot.
In Bios boot order page all devices disappeared, including my system ssd 0 and a few HDDs. I enabled the CSM mode in bios as per the instruction from somewhere, and they ( ssd 0 and hdd s) all reappeared there again. but I still can’t boot my pc as it still failed to detect a bootable device and displayed the error message "reboot and select proper boot device, ….."
I also connected it, the ssd 0, to my iPad, and I can still access it and explore all the files, so at the time I thought there was no hardware damage. Until recently I saw somewhere that ssd could have done something to prevent data loss when it exhausted, and must be replaced. ?
Then now, I bought a new ssd and installed windows 11, and ran chkdsk again, it still told me can’t do it cuz it’s write protected. I also can’t delete any file in it cuz delete button was grayed out. I ve cleared the read only attribute via diskpart, but not worked.
Can anyone help me to check if this ssd 0 has already broken or if I can do anything to restore my old system in ssd 0? Pls tell me if any log is needed.
Appreciate again!
