Hi, I'm building a new pc for work. Currently, I'm working in Revit (BIM 3d modeling) and Lumion (GPU Render)

My current PC is an Asus G14 (Laptop) Ryzen 9 5900HS, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD, RTX 3060.

BUILD:
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7900X 4.7 GHz 12-Core Processor ($409.00 @ Amazon)
  • CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X73 73.11 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($159.99 @ Best Buy)
  • Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X670E-PLUS WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard ($301.20 @ Amazon)
  • Memory: G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-7800 CL36 Memory ($249.99 @ Newegg)
  • Storage: Samsung 980 Pro 2 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive ($139.00 @ Amazon)
  • Video Card: Asus TUF GAMING GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Video Card ($1199.00 @ Newegg)
  • Case: NZXT H7 Flow ATX Mid Tower Case ($129.99 @ Amazon)
  • Power Supply: Cooler Master V850 SFX GOLD 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular SFX Power Supply ($142.99 @ Amazon)

Total: $2731.16

Need advice on the components and if I can save money on some components. I've seen the difference between 5600 vs 7800 DDR5 Ram and is less than a 10% in performance but $USD 100 in price.

Air cooling would be one place as a good Thermalright dual tower will cost $40-50. AMD doesn't need faster than 6000 memory, but get some with the lowest overall latency you can afford (CL alone isn't enough these days). Any 850W gold rated PSU from a reputable brand is good so you might be able to find something cheaper (I generally look for 10+ year warranty from Corsair, EVGA, Seasonic, FSP). Arctic Freezer II CPU cooler ought to be cheaper and likely is better (dunno how much you care about RGB etc here).

Maybe something like this? I would not prefer an AIO for 7900X. if its an AIO, it gotta be the Arctic liquid freezer II.

You dont really need a high end SSD as well. 3500 mbps is more than enough for your tasks. The B650E does the same job as the X670E. No need to spend that premium unless you want more IO and better LAN capabilities.

On the RAM, get EXPO not XMP. I had Trident Z5 and it caused all sorts of issues, then I got G.Skill Flare X5 6000 CL36 EXPO and all my issues were gone....it doesn't have RGB, so if you want that, just make sure whatever you find has AMD EXPO.

the build can be done for about 2200 USD:
