[SOLVED] Corsair 4000D Airflow Case RGB & Airflow Tips

Hey y'all hope all is good.

Below is my current part list which I am hoping to buy next month. I wanna know what would be the best fan configuration for the 4000D Airflow from Corsair and which ARGB fans I can use without breaking the bank. I have included a CM Sickleflow 120mm 3-pack in the current list and I am hoping there's a way to perhaps use those fans since they do come a bit cheaper but I am open to other options. If you have some better options I'd love to know.

i would use those 3 in the front as cool air intakes,
switch the included front 120mm to the top-rear as exhaust,
and leave the included rear as exhaust.

you should be fine temperature-wise but if things seem a bit too high after building you can work on updating fan size, model, etc when that occurs.

Thanks. My thoughts were almost the same. Although I was thinking of getting 2 of these 3 in 1 packs and using them to light up the case at the front and rear exhausts.

3 at the front. Intake.
1 rear exhaust.
2 top exhaust.

Another thing is how can I control the RGB of these CM Sickleflow fans. The motherboard I selected comes with 2 argb headers. Any ideas on how to do that?

I want all the fans to be RGB and controlled with a software if possible. Is there any way to achieve this without going for Corsairs Commander RGB controllers? They are quite expensive and not a good option for my budget.

the CM 3 fan pack comes with an RGB controller.
i haven't seen how many devices it can support but it has to be at least 3.
if the motherboard offers 2 aRGB headers you can have each set of 3 fans running through a different header and sync them through the motherboard RGB control software.

if only using 5 of the 6 fans you should still have a header open on one of the RGB controllers for another device(LED strip, etc).

check your board manuel it already have 4 aura connector on for the 5050 strip .

scout_03 Yes I just saw that it has 2 aura connectors and 2 argb headers. However there's going to be a total of 6 fans. So I'm still left with 2 fans not connected?

John, I don't think the controller that comes with the sickleflow pack allows you to connect to the argb header but rather have physical buttons that are used to change the lighting of the rgb fans. Or am I mistaken?

if not you can still find a cheaper option than the Corsair hub you mention.

From the YT reviews and the pics on the site, I don't think it is intended for software use.

Amazon is usually pretty good about returns so even something from one of their 3rd party sellers shouldn't pose a problem if it doesn't function correctly.

just make sure that other customers mention how it syncs with other devices through motherboard software.
i've run into a few cheap RGB devices that had switched pins and mismatched colors vs the average device.

Sadly, no GPU with the current budget. Will buy a month after assembling this one. Hoping to get a RTX 2060 or a 3060 atleast.

Actually I have some ideas to save you some cash. The cooler I chose can handle a 5900x. I am using it, currently, on my 5800x. Then I found fans to match it, on Amazon, that do have a controller with them. Changed the PSU to a less expensive, but still solid seasonic built Antec. Also chose a better SSD, that comes out cheaper.

That's a pretty cool suggestion. But for the PSU, I am kinda hesitant to change that one. I think I'll swap out the Sabrent if the WD performs the same or even better.

Because it is quite well within budget and perhaps the AIO can cool better than an air cooler? $65 for an AIO is pretty neat if it's a 240mm from Cooler Master. + more rgb

As for the Vetroo fans, would the controllers that come with them help control the RGB with software? Perhaps with the Aura Sync on the ASUS MOBO?

Thanks man. I did see that vid from Jay, a bit earlier this week.

But I think all is good for now. Found an Antec 3-pack that comes with a PWM/RGB control hub and goes well with a NZXT X53 240mm AIO. But I might switch back to the bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4 if my budget doesn't hold up.
