I do not know if this has been mentioned before, but if you run your F@H with a restricted # of cores (like 4 out of 8) set the affinity to the number you set. Boosted my PPD by 4k on my 870 folding 4 out of 8.

Windows 7. Go to the task manager, find the process, right click, and set priority to below normal and affinity to chosen cores.
EDIT: First 2 WU's I got are 8900 and 8576. :pt1cable:

Just a quick note: if any of you are running the beta flag, if you would turn it off (to advanced or nothing) it would be helpful (to you and the beta team). Right now there is a new GPU beta project, but almost nobody on the beta team has gotten it as they didn't start a lot of WUs (brand new projects usually don't in case of issues). Also, it looks like it is a bit on the low side for PPD, so you really don't want to get one (except for testing) I believe it is currently the only beta GPU project. Thanks!

Is this only open to BETA team members? what is the difference between open beta and beta? Looks or sounds like this is been released into the wild rather than just confined to the beta team. I agree with turning off the beta flag so you guys can get the appropriate WUs but do you need those WUs to work out bugs in 7.4.0 or with the new beta project WU?

regards

BTW when will the 8018s go away they are so S L O W and being core_15 have no QRB
well I guess I get the WU credit if not the points. either way it's useful science.

🙂

BTW2
New 7.40 interface lets me see a little more info than before but does not seem to like HFM
and now I can get the screensave to actually show me the atoms whereas before I could not.
I like that it has a direct link to this forum, nice touch by the developer.

No, the beta clients are open to everyone. All the beta there means is don't be surprised if you hit some bugs and report them if you do.

The beta WUs are completely unrelated - they are just a new project starting up.

OK, I've figured out what's going on here.

For the last couple of days I haven't been getting any bonus points for my A3s and A4s.

On top of that I haven't been awarded any points for my core 11 jobs at all. Been processing them ant turning them in but no points.

Anybody have a clue about this? I've been keeping up with the forum and I read about some stuff might be dropped soon but I figured as long as they were assigning core 11s they would award points for them and I didn't see anything about killing bonus points points for SMP stuff.

If they are assigned and returned successfully, you should get points. There was a stats outage for a while last week, but that *should* be all caught up now.

For the bonus obviously there are more factors involved, but assuming your passkey is correct and you haven't had a huge string of failures, that should be working too.

I have seen some cases where during stats problems some servers were forgotten and had to be manually synced. Additionally I seem to remember someone having some issue with bonuses as well.

If you know specifically which WUs you didn't get a bonus for or didn't get any points at all, I would recommend you start a thread over at the official forums in the 'Issues with a specific WU' section. The mods can check whether WUs were received, why they got the points they did, and make sure there is nothing wrong with your passkey.

Dang, that would be more than the entire output of my team. 😛
How do you get bonus points? I am averaging 30k on both my 7770 (underclocked. 🙁) and 870 together.

10 WU's in a time period? I have 42 WU's but like 5 recently.

Running slightly downclocked mine gets 20ppd. Overclocked to 1300 I was getting closer to 30k. I run around 30k, 10 on the CPU, 20 on the GPU. Getting a 270x or next gen equivalent by summer soooo.

EDIT: Already said that, oh well.

I had a 6850 with a SBI i3 running less than 10k, wasn't even worth running the system. I thought the 7xxx cards did better tho.

Yeah, I was a bit hesitant to recommend bigadv because I had a feeling something like this would probably happen. My 4P will have had a good run (after 1 more year of bigadv), not sure what I will do with it after. 2P isn't near the strain on my power bill, so it will probably keep going.

Hello Boys, I'm Back
Did not know until the morning we left it was going to be an extended vacation, after we took the grandkids to Jekyll Island.
Got in last night and fired everything back up to receive the dreaded 8018s across the board. Oh well the science is good for something, if not points.
This year we did the Georgia coast tour.
One night at Magnolia Springs State Park, Half way on the way down.
Started at Jekyll Island with the grandkids. 5days with the GK and two days just the wife and 4 dogs.
Moved down to Crooked River S.P. in Saint Marys for a couple days to see Cumberland Island again. Beautiful place. If you get the opportunity you should definitely see it.
Stopped on Sapelo Island for lunch on the way back up to Savannah. A couple more days at Tybee Island.

Then a couple days each at George L Smith S.P. and A H Stephens S.P. on the way home.

We travel the back roads and secondary roads. Try to avoid the freeways if at all possible. And always try to stay in the State ,County or City Parks whenever possible. They are all user fee funded now so every stay helps keep them open.

Back on topic. I almost bit the bullet on a low power 4p system this time last year. Along with a couple video card upgrades.
But on the way back from Florida we had a blowout on the motor home. Scary as hell. We were on the Interstate at the time. Fired up the generator for my work light. Got the outside tire off and smoke starts bellowing out of the generator compartment. Put it out with the fire extinguisher and finished changing the tires by flashlight.
$1300 to fix the generator and $2600 for a new set of tires completely blew the upgrade plans.

Congrats on the overtake while I was gone and FOLD ON TEAM !!!!

Welcome to our thread.

As stated above ,it does not matter what team you fold for as long as you fold.
You are always welcome here.
Stop by for advice, help or just to chat.
Several of us are hardware nuts but if you need software advice EXT64 is the go to guy for the team.

Just sold all my gear towards a 24 core 2P, that close to buying the other night, giant phew!!

I am sensing some seriously pissed off Folders smashing things up as they read that.

Guess I'm gonna have to reconfigure my plans.:heink:
