Question Fps problems? Freeze frame?

Every time when I play a game my fps suddenly drops to like 10 fps for some seconds and after that they start to rise again, I've tried a lot of things to fix this (lag spikes?). It's on most games except for really old or easy to run games.

My specs are:
GPU: msi GEFORCE RTX 2070 8GB
CPU: AMD fx-8350
Motherboard: ASRock 970 pro3

If anyone could suggest some fix or help me fix it would be really nice.

Thanks in advance!

You have a 2070 with an FX-8350? That CPU is definitely a huge bottleneck on that graphics card. Try using MSI Afterburner to see what component is being used to 100%. Unless you have 4GB of RAM, the CPU is almost definitely the issue.

You're definitely kind sir, my CPU is at an almost constant 100% usage. I didn't think my CPU could be the problem because a friend of mine told me the CPU was a good one but the graphs tell otherwise.

So that problem is gone, but what other CPU should I buy that does work with my 2070, and do I need a new motherboard too if I'm changing the CPU?

I'd wait for the new Ryzen processors to come out then get a 3700x or whichever one fits within your budget. I have a 7700k and an RTX 2080 and I want to upgrade my cpu. People are saying the 3700x will be the 9900k killer. We shall see.
