I am in possession of a older build with components such as the
FX 8150
Asus crosshair v formula board
8gb ddr3 memory
Windows 7
Radeon HD 6670 graphics.............

Let's upgrade this baby! Any recommendations?
High to low prices I wanna hear them both.

As far as my knowledge goes the highest fx chip is the 8350. And I think the board only supports ddr3

Solution
Alright adjusted for a build with a gpu.

I am trying to stay UNDER $800 Like no more than what I have for this build here.. So what ya'll think bout this one? should I take money away from one component and add it to another?

ALSO I am curious about the RX5500 compared to the RX5600.. you think the 5600 is worth the extra $89???

Go for the 2600 over the 3100
Yes the 5600xt is absolutely worth the extra, go for the sapphire pulse though, it's about the best model there is.

You do need a 500w+ PSU with that card though for headroom.

I've not seen the coolermaster n200 in a build for a long time, now everyone has gone mad on rgb etc.
Its a damn fine little case though 👍...
Any upgrades/money spent on will still leave you underpowered for most games 5 years old or younger....

It might be time to get a new everything....(unless content with Quake 3 for gaming) SOrry, it had to happen sometime!)

An R3-3300X and B450 and 16 GB of DDR4 RAM will run about $300 or so....

Throw in a used GTX1060 or new 1650 Ti and you are golden for 1080P gaming, within reasonable quality settings...

YOu can freely download to USB, install, and run Win10 Home or Pro inactivated until ready to buy a license...

Your FX system is EOL (end of life) and therefore best to upgrade to Ryzen AM4.
If you insist on an upgrade to your current CPU then the FX9590 would certainly provide better performance. If you can get one.
Go here for a comparison: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-FX-9590-vs-AMD-FX-8150/1812vs2006

The FX9590 is a beast of a processor that requires a decent twin rad water cooler and a case with sufficient throughput due to the 220W TDP draw.
You will also need an 850W min, gold certified PSU.
You have the best Motherboard to handle the beast.

The cost of this upgrade is really not worth it and I don't recommend it however it's your choice.

The only thing worth putting into that old system is a decent gpu, and that's only because when you realise how much an 8150 hds it back you'll be able to migrate it to a new system.

CPU wise there's nothing worth upgrading to.
An 8350 has around 5% better ipc but isn't worth the cost or hassle upgrading to even if you find one cheap second hand.

Too much money on the board and too little into the case imo.
