Hi everyone,

I am having a strange issue with one of my new PC builds. The issue is that when I first boot my pc up in the evening to play some games, I notice my frame rate is pretty low compared to usual. However, once I do a quick restart the frame rates are fine (much higher).

To give an example, in Counter Strike 2:
Upon first boot, I average around 210fps
Once I do a quick restart I average around 320 - 400fps

I suspected this was due to Windows 10s "Fast Boot", however it is now disabled but the problem still persists.
I have also done the following:
  • Used Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove Graphics Drivers
  • Re-Installed / Updated Graphics Drivers
  • Updated / Flashed BIOS to latest Version

Does anyone have any ideas of what could be causing this issue? (I don't want to have to restart my pc every time I boot it up ).

My PC Specs:
Motherboard - MSI B650I Edge (AM5 Socket)
CPU - AMD Ryzen 7800X3D AM5
GPU - ASUS RTX 3070 (DUAL OC 8GB GDDR6)
RAM - G.SKill DDR5 RipJaws S5 32GB (6000Mhz)
PSU - Corsair SF750
SSD 1: 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 SSD

Is this windows 10?

try turning this off = https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/4189-turn-off-fast-startup-windows-10-a.html
if that fixes it, cause is likely an old driver

If you on win 11, that shouldn't be cause. As it should be off.

update chipset drivers since you on latest bios? https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am5/b650
Do you use Wifi or Ethernet?
If ethernet, download latest from https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MPG-B650I-EDGE-WIFI/support#driver since they only a week old.

I assume you don't use a wifi dongle since Motherboard has it already. just looking for extra devices that could be cause.

Hey,

Yes it is windows 10. Already tried turning fast boot off like I said in the previous post, the issue still persists.

I have updated all of those drivers you have listed, the issue still persists.

I do use ethernet rather than wifi. I do not really have any other devices inside my pc, its pretty minimal.
