Question getting lower fps than intended

hi , i keep looking on youtube videos that have the same setup as mine getting much higher frames in the same games than i do and i dont get why.do you guys have any idea how to solve this , thanks

6gb is a very weird number, 8 gig is decent, but i recommend 16gb 2666mhz - 3200mhz ram if you want to play more modern titles.they could've overclocked their gpu/cpu's too. do you have the most recent drivers installed? if so, upgrade your ram to at least 8gb, and it has to be simular ram to be able to work properly and run in dual channel mode. so buy a kit of 2 or 4 or whater amount of ramsticks you'd like, all with the same speeds, all with the same amount of memory, just all the same specs, and then install it.

hi, first of all thanks for the advices , i accidentally typed 6gb of ram, and secondly, how do i know if my cpu is bottlenecking?

Your CPU and GPU is a good combo, there is though very few games that a quad is not keeping up.

at least, i think it would most likely be the cpu bottlenecking your gpu since you have a pretty powerful card.

but if the cpu was bottlenecking your gpu, the cpu usage would be 100% all the time in intensive benchmarks/stress tests, while your gpu would sit around 30 to 60% or something like that.

basicly, your cpu would have a very hard time keeping up with your gpu.

hmm.. i wouldn't count on that. a gtx 1060 is pretty powerful and i think it needs at least something like a.. ryzen 5 2600 or something to keep up, with 6 cores and 12 threads. a mid-end card would need a mid-end cpu to keep up.

the i5 6600 has only 4 cores and 4 threads, and the 4 cores aren't slow, but they aren't very fast either.

but just jump in some benchmarking programs, and see if your cpu usage is way higher than your gpu usage. if so, it could be a sign of a bottleneck.

ok so i downloaded msi afterburner and the result i got in bf1 ultra were 60 fps with 100% cpu with 70 degrees celcius and abou70-80% gpu 60 degrees

so as i understand i need to upgrade my cpu , but i dont get why the people on youtube are getting better results without bottlenecking

another question would be if i could do something without spending too much money and if not possible then what should i buy next an i5 9600k or an i7 something?

it depends on the game or program they're running. it could also be that they have dual channel memory, which is faster in every way. but if your game stutters, i'm pretty sure it is because of your cpu. a ryzen 5 2600 is a very good and affordable option. you could buy one for about 110 to 140 dollars.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 Six Core Processor
GPU: XFX RX 580 8GB (as good as a gtx 1060 6gb)
RAM: Kingston HyperX 4GB DDR4 3200mhz (2x)(dual channel)
SSD: Crucial BX500 240GB
HDD: some 500gb toshiba thing i had laying around (stores all my games, not my important files)
MOBO: Asrock A320M-HDV R3.0
PSU: Cooler Master Masterwatt 650

now you have an idea of a stable, mid-end system without bottlenecks. you shouldn't just grab an old hard drive and shoot it inside your new system though, that was just me being the stupid person i am. but what did you expect from a 14 year-old, lol.

so i have the same memory as yours and the ryzen 5 2600 sounds nice but i dont want to change the motherboard too so i will stick to some 1151 socket processor , i think the 9600k should do it paired with a new fan and 8 more gigs of ram

that would definitely do the trick! that's a great 6 core processor with nice and fast core speeds, but it's nothing too crazy and high end. so the gpu most likely won't bottleneck the i5 9600k.
