Hi Guys, i'm experiencing a problem where when i'm either playing games or watching videos/movies, my gpu fans will randomly go into over-drive and my monitor would lose connectivity, however i can still hear all the game/movie sounds from the monitor.

This problem only started occurring 2-3 days ago, prior to that everything was working perfectly. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the display drivers. My Pc Specs are as follows

GTX Geforce 1080 GPU 8GB (6 months old)
i7-6700k CPU
16GB Memory DDR4
Be Quiet Power Zone 1000W Fully Modular 80+ Bronze Power Supply (3 years old)
Z170X-Designare MotherBoard

As mentioned above, everything was working great until this issue randomly started occurring, it mostly happens once a day, but yesterday it happened 3-4 times and the only way to resolve the issue was powering off the pc manually.

Would be hard to try the GPU on another machine as this is the only desktop in my house hold, all other devices are laptops. I've downloaded GPU-Z to monitor the heat levels and performance level of the GPU, but as far as i can see, it's functioning normally.

Temp is at around 42C, GPU load is around 37 - 50%, fans are currently off, they normally turn on when temp gets to a certain Celsius, CPU temp is around 36C and power consumption is around 10% TDP.
