Hello, as the title suggests, im having a
hard time with gpu usage drops that cause stutters in certain games while in others i dont experience such problems
my current specs are:
i7 9700k
corsair h75 aio
gtx 1050 2gb
16gb ddr4 2666mhz
b365 gigabyte mobo
corsair tx 550m 80+gold psu
1tb nvme m.2 ssd

all the listed parts are replacement (upgrade) to previous, in hope to fix the issues besides just upgrading.

games i have problems in are Rainbow six siege, Escape from tarkov and Genshin impact. But in some other titles such as Apex legends and Doom eternal i have no issues.

So any ideas? im thinking its software thing by now.

Thanks

did you do a fresh os install after the upgrade?
cpu/gpu temp and usage during the game?
ram/ssd usage?

Hi,
Yes i did a fresh windows 10 install a few times by now.
Cpu and gpu are very well cooled, under load they stay arround 50-65c
Ram usage depends on the game, so far the highest was 12gigs in tarkov
I havent monitored ssd usage, but the same issue occured on my previous sata ssd.

Your dips are most likely caused by your "problematic games" needing more than 2GB of VRAM to run smoothly at the settings and resolution you run them at.
Hello, i am aware that 2gb of vram is not enough, but previous to this 1050 i had an rx 580 4gb which also had usage drops and stutters. Again 4gb isnt much, but on 1080p low settings it should be fine.
