After much debating, I decided to go with the Evga 590 Classified. Found it at Fry's for $650. I noise difference is the biggest reason I went with Nvidia this time around. It was a tough choice though...

I can't imagine a monitor performing with a response rate of 60,000,000 Hz

Aaah, it's Monday morning, 9AM - with a cup of coffee in my right hand staring at the monitor, looking outside through the office window where there is a clear blue sky and the sun is shining. Sitting 3 meters away from me is "Diablo" our primary mean graphics benchmarking machine, sitting in it, is this red little devil armed by two GPUs and a lot of features. Heck yeah, last week the Radeon HD 6990 arrived here in the office, and is sitting like two buns in an oven waiting to be consumed. It's gonna be a good day.

6990 is equivalent to windows vista which transformed to windows 7 for picking up a dual GPU one must wait and watch what NVIDIA offers presently the market leader is GTX 580 hd 6970 is equivalent to gtx 460 at lower rosolutions and as resolution rises it performs ok a little better than gtx 460 something equivalent to gtx 570

Having said all this is there any other card which 6990 can be compared to its more like in the land of blind one eyed man is KING,its reaching top slots by default not by performance lets wait and see what NVIDIA roles out

He's saying the HD6970 is on par with the GTX460 at lower resolutions, on par with the GTX570 at higher resolutions, and that the HD6990 only wins by default because nVidia doesn't have anything to offer that's similar to it.

Basically, he's an idiot.

Can anyone tell me that difference between full directx 11 support in HD 6770 and 6970 between only directx 11 support(not full directx 11 like 6970 or other 6000 series) in Radeon HD 5000 series.. Bcs in AMD website none of higher end 5000 series says about full directx 11 support. Only 6770, 6850, 6970 and upper version support full directx 11. Is there any differences between full directx 11 support vs. only directx 11 in 5000 series.

@greg,
thanks so much for ur reply bro.. I read every place in google i can find and posted same msg as here about full directx 11 vs. directx in 5000 series.. I happy to know the fact.. Greg, i also interested in diffence between opengl 4.2 in radeonhd 6000 series vs. opengl 3.2(3.3 in latest update) in 5000 series.. Is there any additional effect given by opengl 4.2 in 6000 series.. Also did the 5000 series support second generation directx 11 like the 6000 series..? Thank u so much again for ur reply greg..^_^

The HD 5xxx series is full DX11. The difference with the HD 6xxx series is that it handles tessellation better.

OpenGL 4.2 doesn't even exist yet and both the HD 5xxx and HD 6xxx series support Open GL 4.1. 3.3 was supported with the HD 2xxx, 3xxxx and 4xxx series.

The HD 6770 is a repackaged HD 5770. It's not technically part of the same family of GPU's as the other cards.

Sapphire is usually considered the best vendor (though people will have their personal choices. XFX is well known for having a double lifetime warranty. This means that if you sell the GPU to someone else, they still get a lifetime warranty too.

A 450 watt PSU will generally have no problems with an HD 5750 or HD 5770. It will depend on how many other components you have and the quality of the PSU itself and how many amps it supplies on the 12v rails. What brand and model is it?

This is a well regarded PSU calculator. Fill in all the fields and it will give you a general idea how many watts you need. Always add 25% extra watts for overhead.

Viper, thanks again.. Few days ago i open my ATX to check power supply unit and to cleanup.. It was built in within the atx as same brand.. Its Delux DLP-388A ATX-450W P4. The first 12v rails says 15 Amp and the second 12v is 0.8 amp.
The psu calculator said i need 242w(when included radeon hd 5770) and 226w (when included Radeon HD 5750 instead of 5770).. As my motherboard gigabyte H55 with core i3-530 with 2GB DDR3(will include extra 2GB DDR3 when buying GPU this month).. 500GB 7200rpm samsung hard disc and samsung 24x dvd -rw/+rw. No cooling system i use and nothing extra hardware than these.
3 cooling fan. 1 which included in the ATX which is 120mm. Other one in power supply unit and other one Intel fan& heatsink included with core i3 cpu.

Imran, I do not believe your PSU will be able to provide enough amps on the 12v rails for the HD 5750 or the HD 5770. 15 amps will not be enough. I'd recommend a PSU with at least 30 amps on the 12v rails. 20 amps would be the bare minimum I would recommend and only from a very high quality brand. 30 amps would be the safer number.

Plznote, based on the PSU brand, I'm guessing Thailand.
