Hi guys, my boss currently has a 1060 6gb (I think) he’s looking to upgrade to a 1070. I told to him to go for a 1080. Will a 1080 play at solid frames in 1440p compared to the 1070 or is there not much difference, I just want him to get the beds bang for his buck and also how much better will that 1080 be in comparison to the 1070 and 1060…..I have a 2070 super and this was my 1st card so I don’t know how the others preform

The gtx 1080 is a very good gpu cost around $500 on ebay has the same performance as an rtx 2060

The rtx 2060 also cost around $500 but it also has raytracing as well, consume less power than the gtx 1080
i suggest your boss to buy a rtx 2060 bcuz it has raytracing and consume less power also the same price as 1080 as well

You can watch the whole video, but heres what you are asking about GTX 1060, 1070 and 1080 (and a lot of other cards) 1440p:

From personal experience usign a RTX 2070 at 1440p, I would said don't pick anything lower than a GTX 1080. Been the RTX 2070 Super, RX 5700XT and the new RTX 3060 (and RX 6600 not shown in the video) very solid choices for today and near future games games at high quality.

In any case with prices all over the place and stock problems I guess he should get the best he can at a reasonable price.

Finally one thing to keep in mind is that the GTX 1060 is not a very demanding GPU power wise, so before any upgrade your boss should really make sure the PSU can hold its ground with a higher tier GPU.

Cheers!
