Help picking best 1080p HD Tv out there?

My TCL tv some how fried by me accidentally knocking the cable out of its outlet, gently, and won't turn on. I don't want a 4k tv as they suck for normal TV watching .I want something with just really good picture/colors. I'm looking to be around 40-50" Want to buy one by friday and willing to spend up to 400$. I googled like top tv's but then the reviews say they are awful so I'm completely lost on what to get. Hope you guys can help me. Thanks!

I was thinking the
LG - 49" Class - LED - LK5700 Series - 1080p - Smart - HDTV
but I have no clue if thats a bad choice or not..everything I google talks about 4ks

The world has moved on to 4K, every comparison is based on 4Ks features, increased brightness, contrast ratio, blah-blah. If you were a vendor, would you put lots of effort to sell the best 1080 TV today?

IF you insist on 1080 and a fixed budget, there isn't a whole lot of choices, u just have to know what your priorities are and zero in those numbers.

I don't think you can get the 1080p HD TV at this price, Have you looked up the 55" refurbished TV?
