I cant every be happy with my PC

It was almost 2 months which i was really enjoying my rig , no problems , no slow downs , no OVERCLOCKING FAILED message , but today i turned on the PC , and i couldnt believe it , OVERCLOCKING FAILED( i am not OC'd), i pressed F2 and came to windows , then i played FIFA08 , after 5 mins , it froze and then i saw a blue screen for a minute and then it restarted , :pfff: then i played World In Conflict , and in the middle of playing , it froze and I HAD to restart , because i couldnt do anything , and now each time i am scared to turn my PC , i cant ever be happy with it , i must always have a problem :pfff: :fou:

Ok. I'm not an overclocker so I don't know about these things, but it would seem to me that if my system gave me a message that stated "Overclock Failed" and the only part of my system that is overclocked is my graphics card (even if it is factory overclocked), that would be the first place I'd look.

What am I missing here?

"Overclocking Failed" is a generic message that has nothing to do with overclocking. What it actually means is "previous boot failed". This could be caused by a number of issues, included a voltage fluctuation on the power supply, damaged memory, or damaged motherboard subcomponents.

I would say put everything back to default.

If the message is "overclock failed", yet you're still able to get into Windows, that means the error signal is not generated by CPU overclocking. Hence, there's nothing wrong with your CPU.

Put everything back to default, and see if it runs stable. If yes, then check if you're encountering heat problems on your GPU. If no, then you should update your driver, and GPU Bios if possible.

I'm not familiar with overclocking your GPU, so someone please shed light on this matter.

EDIT:

Sorry Crashman. I didn't see the explanation above. 😀

to crashman :
why i must increase RAM voltage ?

to yomamafor1:
well as i said , i cleard the CMOS and set everything back to default
it always run stable for 1 month or more , but after that i get this message, my GPU runs very good , between 59-76max

Have you tried updating your GPU's firmware? You can also try to update the driver.

Anything beyond that is out of my knowledge. Maybe Crashman can help you more than I can 😀

i assume u have one hdd. try to connect it on another sata port. there is a chance that your hdd might be clicking. then u must chk your psu. maybe u got a faulty psu that just lost its true potential after some time. hope i helped.

one more thing, that does this freezing thing happens only while playing games or when u are doing something light, like browsing your pc, this doesnt include internet surfing.

then this means that under stress, things get bad. now u must start with your psu, then ram and then hdd. i know this will sound as bogus but who knows that a problem has arised due to something faulty which have shown its faultyness after sometime. try it.

To what its supposed to be what do you think?? lol :bounce:

If your ram is 2.1v, then set it to 2.1v.

I do not think you understand. He resetted his bios and the default voltage are 'DEFAULT' and you do not see what is the voltage unless you change it but he do not know, like me, what is the value of 'DEFAULT'.

Crashman stated that this ram need more than the default and he wants to know what is it?

The "overclocking failed" message is a standard output message from the bios when it has a problem with hardware. Even if the bios is set to default and settings are set to auto, the bios tries to determine the correct settings and set them before boot up. Asus boards have that message. Unsure on other boards. Factory settings for DDR2 on a motherboard are 1.8v. Anything else is overclocked. Therefore if your running high performance memory, which is normally 2.1 to 2.2 volt, it is being overclocked. Have you checked for a bios update? Sometimes it fixs memory incompatibillies. Is your memory listed compatible with the motherboard manufacture? So your overclocking your video card beyond its specification? Stop the madness. Overclocking will damage something sooner or later. If your computer was running fine in the beginning, and now your having problems, you have damaged something. If it has had problems from the beginning, then there is a incompatibility or a problem with the hardware. What about the PSU? Is it something good and have enough power to supply stable voltage to everything, or is it some good deal you found?

Have you run prime(blend test) to see if it errors? this will find errors even mem test can miss....prime for at least 6 hours(12 would be better)

If its ddr 800 @ 4,4,4,X most of it needs 2.0 volts + to operate correctly...In many cases 4 sticks may need and extra +0.1 volts as well....

Try running with just 2 sticks for now.....you never know if you have some software that is buggy......

There is a full list of things that can cause it...

As for the oc failed....asus does that any time a post is not successful ....so even if you power...say ahh screw it power off(before post is done) and go to work/school...when you get home you will get a OC fail....
