Yeah I have read the application process in that guide, but the guide never explicitly tells me what is really recommended. I want to make this clear before I apply my thermal paste. So do I first fill the paste in the channels with like a credit card and then put 3 stripes of thermal paste on the channel and install the heatsink like usual?

Yeah, fill the channels with a little of thermal paste and after that apply the thermal paste to the cooler, I think that with 2 stripes are enough to cover all the CPU and Cooler.

So how do you guys know if the amount of thermal paste that you put on the cooler will be enough to cover the CPU without lifting up the cooler after you place it down? Sorry, I am new to this =P

@ red999 - google it, all of us here do that first and then come to the forums when all else fails :)

# firefighters are aways called when you don't have a ladder to bring the cat down from a tree 😀 lol 😀

To answer your question : you'll know its too much when the thermal paste starts to bleed after the cpu's thermal cycles. The pea size drop will go radially and cover the CPU but for the CM Hyper 212+ the three channels spread the paste in a linear fashion. Make sure the amount of TIM/thermal paste is as the picture states.

Apply paste to only the HSF. The force applied to the HSF (while mounting) will allow the TIM to spread over the CPU. Voila! job done!

@saint19 - your welcome bro!

@lutfij - Ur FB is still down?, in few weeks start the Campus Party in my country and I will be there with my rig and my new 890FXA-UD5 and Crucial Ballistix Tracer 1600 that comes in the way from newegg.

It's an event with modding, Overclocking a party LAN all night for one week, so, a new photo album will exist in my FB with all that pics.

Will look into it! AAAAAAHHHHHH ________ MODDING! i did few mods 2 yrs back. did it on my old case...made a window and the had a paint job done on it. Didn't have the time t wok on the case window.

But i worked neons into it :) will post when i have the time.

lol, i don't know what the fuss is all about. I cant log into the site...its been blocked 😛 .... while all the porn sites are still up 😀

The second one will work with standard RAM chips (not the tall RAM) - the first one will interfere with your RAM. I am considering horizontal push mounting (I prefer push to pull) for single fan applications.

Ok, thanks. I will probably be mounting it north-south because of my stupid large northbridge heatsink, but will the first fan even mount to the 212+ because of its weird case? I want to use two of these fans in push-pull config.

When you install the backplate, you should isolate it from the motherboard to avoid shorts. There are some strips of mylar (plastic) that come with the Hyper 212+ to be attached where the screws go that isolate contact with the motherboard.
If you fail to isolate a backplate, you could burn out your motherboard potentially.

Those pieces of adhesive backed rubber are for the optional second fan to be mounted within the clip provided, to dampen vibration/rattle that may occur otherwise. The back plate is already insulated.

@saint19... I'll add this as a reference in my Step-by-Step Guide to Building a PC sticky since I used the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus for the build.

I just wish the forum would drop the "ten pics max per post" rule on guides like your's and mine. I could've provided a few better pics if wasn't limited by that restriction.

Good point! The weight of the cooler is well distributed by the mounting brackets. Besides, the mobo substrate is made of reinforced fiberglass. When the cooler is mounted per instructions (screws evenly tightened to the correct torque) there will be no issues regarding the weight.

Thanks i have thought about it but this tower HS is too large and when we screw the mobo into the cpu case its impossible that it will not strain the Mobo even if the weight's spread all over .........Have you seen such a rig that has been working fine for 2-3 months then this HS sloution's fine and best despite installing Water Colling....which is costly than this...........
