I recently received an old desktop computer from a family member which contains parts from around 2006.
The plan is to use it as my main PC even though the parts are old, since the rest of the components are still working and perfectly fine for what I would use them for.
It contains a Corsair TX650 power supply, and while I know Corsair is a trustworthy brand and one of the most popular for PSUs, I’m concerned about whether the current TX650 in the machine would be safe to use, since I don’t know the age of the power supply and I have read online that if a power supply is between 10 and 15 years old it is unsafe to use, although I didn’t find any answers relating to this specific PSU.
Is this Corsair TX650 safe to use? What I mean by this is is there a significant risk of it exploding or setting on fire or something similar?
