I purchased a CKL KVM 2x2 USB 3.0 KVM Switch Dual Monitor DisplayPort 1.4 4K 144Hz 8K 30Hz CKL-622DP-4.

I have two monitors and was looking to set it up between my work laptop and desktop PC. The displays work fine on the laptop side. I have two displayport cables connected from a docking station to the monitors. On the PC side, only one monitor works. I have an RTX 2060 which has one displayport and one hdmi so I used a displayport to hdmi cable for the second connection which does not work. Additional things I've tried:
Displayport from motherboard to KVM
USB 3 connection from motherboard to KVM
At first I thought the KVM wasn't happy using a cable with two different ends (hdmi to displayport) but I can't see to get it to work no matter what I try. Another thing to not is that I hear the Windows connection sound when plugging in the USB 3 when trying the above but none of the other connections. I can see the USB connection in device manager also but still only one monitor.
Lastly, I have a Logitech MK710 mouse/keyboard that when plugged into the KVM doesn't not work from either laptop/desktop.
Any suggestions on how to make this work? I am open to other other solutions as well but ideally I'd like to switch with a button between the two.
