Im looking for a real good 19" monitor and the LG Flatron 915FT+ looks fantastic. My question is that, compared to other monitors from manufactures such as SONY, NEC, Samsung, etc, it costs a LOT less (in some instances about $200-250CDN less). Is there something I should know about? Price ASIDE, how does the performance compare to the likes of SONY and NEC (or others). Looks great but that price has me a bit skeptical. Thanks for the help

1 - It is fantastic monitor (I've got one :))
2 - It also is the best 19" CRT I've ever seen regardless of price. And I'm quite price INsensitive regarding monitors (my previous monitor was a Samsung 17 GLSi that cost me over $800).
3 - It is a AG without damper wires (this feature alone won me over). And completely flat (inside and outside).

Just my opinion - yours may be completely different.

Im was thinking of getting the SONY CPD-G400. Just comparing these 2 monitors (the SONY and the LG) how do they stack up. Right now im using a SONY Multiscan 17sf II which I bought many years ago and has always been a great monitor for me. I know almost nothing of LG monitors. Oh one more thing, does the FLATRON 915FT+ have any kind of anti-glare coating? My monitor really suffers from some glare issues. Thanks for your time

I prefer the LG, not only because *I* think it is generally better, but also due to the damper wires (those 2 thin horizontal lines visible against white backgrounds) of the other AG monitors.
The LG has a anti-glare coating they call W-ARAS.

Comparing with the Sony G400 (besides actual image quality), they look rather similar, although the sony goes to an higher resolution (a rather moot point, since it is unusable in practice), they both do 1600x1200@85hz. The LG has dual inputs (standard VGA and BNC conectors) and an USB hub which may or may not be useful for you. I *think* the Sony does not have either of these extras.
Both the LG and the Sony have a 3-year warranty.

Anyway, I advise you if you can to go and compare them side by side in a store before buying.
