Hi,

I'm looking to upgrade/build a new PC.

System Usage: 1. Work from Home via a VDS environment, 2. Good VR experience, looking to get Valve Index and run HL: Alyx well

Purchase Date: During the coming week, however not in a rush

Budget: €1500~

Location: All parts to be delivered to Ireland

Current Specs:
CPU: Intel i5-4670 @ 3.40 GHz
Motherboard: ASRock H97M Anniversary - micro ATX - LGA1150 Socket - H97
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB 2.5 inch and Samsung 860 EVO 1 TB SATA 2.5 Inch SSD
RAM: HyperX HX318C10FB/8 FURY Black, 8 GB, 1866 MHz DDR3 and CORSAIR Memory — 8GB DDR3 Memory
GPU: XFX Radeon R9 390 DD Edition Graphics Card (8 GB, GDDR5)
Power supply: Corsair RMi Series RM850i ATX/EPS Fully Modular 80 PLUS Gold 850 W

OS: Will need to get Windows 10, current system still running on Windows 7.. (Can add this cost on top of the budget)

Parts Preferences: Personal Preference from what I've gathered, I would go probably want to go with rtx 3080 or RX 6800 XT for the GPU, and a Ryzen 5 5600x for CPU

Monitor Resolution: 2x monitors at 1920 x 1080 (Probably not looking to change this)

Overclocking: Never done this, so probably not looking now either

Additional Comments:
Looking at the current specs, I can probably reuse the PSU and keep the SSDs, so mainly looking to get a new Motherboard/CPU/GPU and new RAM sticks, along with a new Case/Fan. Unfortunately based on the preference parts it might leave me at most with €300 for the rest of the build, so any and all suggestions/tips are very much appreciated.

Many Thanks,
Toxidz

5600X-should be around...

Welp, since almost everything is out of stock, you are going to have to find them.
5600X-should be around 350-400$
3060Ti-i would expect somewhere in the 600-700$ area
4000D-about 100$
So in total that would be around 1650$ ~ 1350euros.
3080/6800XT are overkill for 1080p,they are meant for 4K.
5600X,really good cpu in gaming,a bit pricey but considering the budget you can fit it in.
GIGABYTE B550,has Q Flash Plus which lets you update the BIOS without cpu and ram,and ur gonna need that since 5000 series cpu's require a bios update to work.If you have a 3rd gen ryzen cpu, that will work too.
Ram is solid for 5600X and considering everything is out of stock in Ireland this is the best i could find at CAS Latency 16,and ofcourse within a normal price range.16GB should be enough for a normal gamer.
I love 4000D airflow, one of the most beatiful cases in my opinion.
And for windows, follow this guide on how to completely get set up with that.

Edit: Forgot about the cooler,ARCTIC's new AIO's are one of the top performers,so it will cool your 5600X pretty well, even if you overclock it

Brilliant, thanks for the suggestions including the original GPU preference being overkill! Unfortunately it does look a bit hard getting my hands on some of the parts at the moment, hoping these will come in stock soon!

One thing I forgot to mention originally, what If im looking for a motherboard with a Wifi card slot/support? currently using TP Link AC1300 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Adapter for the internet, would save some pain If could still keep the connection wireless. No idea what the trade off would be here though.

Thanks!

GIGABYTE B550 AORUS ELITE V2 has a pcie slot for that adapter, between the 2nd and 3rd pcie slot for the gpu
