Question M.2 adapter

Hi everyone i have a old pc and was hoping to bring new life to it i have a Kingfast M.2(NGFF) 2280 256gb ssd that i want to ise so i baught an M.2 to PCI adapter. Then when i put it in it didnt pick up the ssd so i installed clover os on a usb and windows iso on another but still nothing i coppied the nvme... .efi to the bios and UEFI folder on the clover isb and still nothing I am using an dell 2th gen pc with 4gb ram plz help

What specific motherboard?

Older ones may not be able to use the parts you have.

And even if they could, it would give no real performance gain over a SATA III SSD. Which WILL work 100%.

I am not sure about the spesific motherboard there is only the name dell

That adapter only supports NVMe drives.
That is a SATA M.2 drive.

It will not work.

I have a hdd installed itl be huge improvement😂

If you're planning on using this as your OS drive, this will also likely not work.
No matter what drive.

Systems of that vintage generally cannot boot from a drive in a PCIe slot.


You're wasting time and money, for no gain. Or even negative gain
