[SOLVED] Molex connector problem ?

Hello everybody.
I am writing from Italy.
I have an ATX PSU with various output cables including a 4-pin Molex which I think is for the mobo power supply.
But my micro ATX mobo has an 8-pin connector.
How do I go about solving this problem ?
Your help will be much appreciated.

I think I inserted it properly, letting it fall into place without applying any pressure. Still, I will do as you say but not now. This problem has worn me out. I'd suggest you also connect pc beeper (pins right next to front panel connector).
It should give you diagnostic beeps, when starting the pc.

With 430w @12v it's nowhere near a 650w PSU.

Remove this dinosaur. The Intel iGPU is more modern en performs a lot better.

Even with no ram installed it should still give beeps.
So - either

cpu improperly installed or​

one of components is dead - psu, motherboard or cpu.​

​

Starting to think, it's damaged cpu socket.
Did you check cpu socket for bent/broken pins?

How did you determine that?
Can you show a photo of cpu socket (with pins visible, from multiple angles) ?

I bought the CPU from a reliable seller who guarantees that he tested it before shipment. The socket is the mobo's socket and the mobo was brand new and I always treated it well.

Cpu socket pins are very fragile.
A slight misalignment of pins can cause no contact.
Without proper visual inspection you can't be sure, it's ok.

With beeper connected and no ram installed pc should beep, when you try to start it.
If it doesn't, then something is not ok.

You were very right. See picture, some pins are bent. I don't know, I was very careful and the CPU is the first thing I fitted, carefully

If you have steady hands and proper equipment, you could try straightening bent socket pins.

But if that's not possible, then - a new motherboard is necessary.

I will definitely try but little hope because at my age I do not have a steady hand anymore. If by chance I was successful I will come back here, not otherwise. But I want to thank you very much for your patience. Now I learnt that inserting a CPU in a modern PC socket is a very delicate job.

The CPU looks bad too. Never seen such an abused CPU.

Still a lot of misaligned pins.
And one pin is bent backwards.
(Err..looks like two pins are bent backwards - near inner corner.)

Pin contact pads have to form a straight line with neighboring pins (in horizontal and vertical directions).

Sorry, man, I couldnt make it. I learnt a lesson: PC CPU's must absolutely be inserted with extreme care. When I have the money for it, I will buy the mobo again, since I have all the remaining pieces. Thank you all the same to you. Cheers.

Your board still might be fixable.
Look at this socket image. This one is hopeless.
